Holiday Photos - Santorini Greece.

Whaaat!!! Does mum realise how far behind we are visiting our friends? We will have to make her work harder.
Okay, so most of you were right yesterday. It was Eric's tail. Both our tails are very similar, but Eric's last white stripe is narrower than mine and he has a bigger ginger tip on the end. The biggest give away though is that he makes a much bigger lump than me. Don't tell him I said that though. The throws are on the recliners to keep our fur off but we both like to burrow under them.
Over to mum and Santorini now.

After a day at sea we anchored off the island of Santorini. When I first looked out from the balcony I thought I saw snow covered mountains but it was the white painted houses clinging to the cliffs. Mind you, I had just woken up and didn't have my glasses on!

The village is right at the top of the cliffs and we had the option of the cable car or the donkeys. We chose the cable car as I think it wrong the way the donkeys have to go up and down the very steep path carrying visitors hour after hour, day in day out.

The view from the cable car station.

The following are various views in the village.

Waiting for the cable car to go back down.

Nearly halfway down. It is very sheer.
Everyone we had spoken to had told us how pretty Santorini is and we have to agree with them.
Next stop Rhodes.

  8. Oh that takes me back! I visited Santorini when I was just 30 ~ and absolutely loved it. It seems like a place stopped in time. I agree about the donkeys ~ they are worked far too hard. Thanks for sharing.

  10. It sure is interesting how they build those houses right on the edge. That would sure make me nervous if a big wind came along.
Thanks for taking the cable car up rather than the poor donkeys. We should try to rescue those donkeys.
WE are sure loving these vacation pictures.
    Take care.

  15. It is amazing how the village clings to the edge of the island. it was a wonder to see what looked like swimming pools on the cliff. Is the yellow building with the bells a church? Mom does not like heights, but would rather do the cable car than ride the poor donkeys! Thank you for sharing!

  16. WOW That is a steep cliff! Makes you wonder how people even built up there? I would have voted for the cable car too!
