Wordy Wednesday.

We are not used to the very hot weather in the UK so it is very important to keep well hydrated.
These purple flowers are supposed to be cat nip. That is what it said on the seed packet, well, as a nip connoisseur I can tell you it is not the real thing. It does absolutely nothing for me, growing or dried and the people who said it is nip don't know what they are talking about. The bees seem to like it though.
I had a couple of comments in my last post asking why dad lent some straw to his friend then had it back again two days later. His friend wanted to take some people on a tour of his fields on his farm trailer but he only has big round bales so dad lent him some of his small bales for the people to sit on. Trouble was that their stinky cats sat on it too.
I am sorry I have not been commenting for the past two weeks, the reason being that I have been in lock up while the Beans were off gallivanting again. We decided against putting it on the blog as the last twice there were introoders snooping about while they were gone. It was okay though because our neighbour sent them packing. It was probably just coincidence but they decided not to advertise the fact that they were away and mum scheduled some posts for me. I will try and get back to normal and start visiting all my friends again.
Thank you all for the blogoversary wishes too.

  3. That's a nice watering hole!

  5. Sounds like that plant is more bee nip than catnip! I think your humans are smart not saying they were out of town until after the fact. My human doesn't like to advertise when she leaves town, even though there is always someone here when either she or her boyfriend (or the both of them) are away.

  6. Sparkle just took the meows right out of my mouth with 'bee nip'!

  7. Very smart on both counts! My peeps never say they have been anywhere til afterwards. Stay cool and hydrated during those "hots"! XOXO

  8. Good idea not to let the introoders types know your beans are gone.

  9. That is one big water dish, Flynn! Make sure you get your fill!

  10. We like your water dish Flynn, looks very big, sturdy and not tip-able! Your catnip flowers are very purdy, but it's all about the nip flavor, right?

We planted a whole package of seeds too, and have just one sorry plant. We're purring that it survives.

  14. How horrible to think that people were reading your blog to snoop around and maybe do something bad! I am glad that they are back and you are no longer locked up! I shall enjoy seeing where they might send me next!

  18. It has been hot, hasn't it. we've been sleeping in the shade. The woman has put bowls of water everywhere.

That plant is Cat Mint. Similar to Cat Nip, but not as potent. We used to have some growing on our garden, but Thomas ate it.

  19. we think it is smart not to announce when we are gonna be away. I am always amazed at the number of people who announce when they will not be home! Smart thinking!

  20. That's smart about not advertising about your mum and dad's absences. Criminals are pretty clever when they want to be, though most of them aren't as clever as the police - or thoughtful neighbours.

Yes, stay hydrated, Flynn. I'm always trying to get my cats to drink more water. Come to think of it, I'm kind of thirsty myself now...

  24. That is a neat water bowl. We don't think that plant is catnip, either. Maybe another mint relative--it's a big family.

Best not to divulge too much on the internet. Some humans are just bad and look for opportunities like a vacation, wedding, or funeral :(

  25. The small bales are just so much handier, aren't they?

Glad your parents are back and normal life has been restored, Flynn!

  30. That's a nifty-looking waterbowl! And yeah, those catnip flowers? Our mom grew some; didn't do anything for us either. Maybe it should be called bee-nip! Purrs...

  31. Flynn we thought the purple flowers were very pretty, but we can see that is NO catnip. We hope your pawrents had a great time while away, but we are sorry there were anyone snoopin while they were gone before. We are glad nothing happened.

  32. Sorry those seeds turned into NOT nip, Flynn. Very pretty flowers, though. :)

We are sorry about the hot weather there. Please stay cool and drink lots of water.

Good thinking about your Mum and Dad not posting that they were away. Safer that way!

  39. Don't worry about not being able to comment, Flynn. We haven't been able to either lately because the mom has been busy moving - packing, unpacking, etc.

    Glad you're back!

  40. We are glad to see you are staying hydrated, Flynn! Mom's nephew is leaving next month to study for a semester in your country. He will be in Cambridge. Hopefully it will cool off before then.

Don´t wan´t any theif coming and catnap you :)
    XOXO

  42. OMC intruders are the worse..maybe they also took the smell of the catnip. You keep on drinking with these hot days. Pawkisses for the weekend :)

  43. Our mom has always tried to not advertise being away on the blog 'cause she's afraid of what you mentioned. Who knows what kind of sneaky, bad people might come calling while your humans are away! Sorry somebody sold you all fake catnip. That is just so, so wrong. Maybe the next time your humans go shopping for it, they should take you along. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
