Eric's Day Flashback.

The Flashback this week comes from November 2007 and was originally a (Scared) Mancat Monday, but first we want to show you Eric's rose which is in full flower.

Now for the flashback.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to be a mancat today cuz I have to admit I got scared. Is it ok for a mancat to get scared? I don't puff up like Flynn, my furrs just go sort of loose on my back and tail. When Flynn gets scared, his tail goes like a bottle brush.

There's something here that I don't like. Mum asked me what it was, but I'm not telling. I don't want her getting scared too. It's my secret.

Flynn's not here. He must have been so scared that he ran back home.I'll try to be a good mancat and not get scared again.

  6. You know sometimes even the bravest mancats get their furs in a fluff. We'd never have thought less of Eric for that!

  10. Oh, that rose is so pretty. The rose is our favorite flower so we are so glad that is Eric's flower.
Scared is just fine Eric, it is so much smarter to be scared and safe. Hope all of you have a great day.

  11. Eric's rose is beautiful! Scared happens here, too, sometimes. Today's grainy photo of Newton was from when something scared him and he wouldn't tell anyone what had alarmed him, either.

  14. Just look at all of the lovely blooms! Exquisite colour! Eric's rose is absolutely beautiful. And it is all the more beautiful because it is Eric's rose.
Eric, you puffed your tail in response to a perceived threat. Perfectly acceptable. Wise, in fact. We miss you so, dear.

  15. What gorgeous flowers. The rose is lovely, but the clematis is amazing. Mom has never seen one so large with so many flowers. We are sorry that Eric had a scary day way back when. At least he did protect his mom from getting scared as well. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  19. Oh the garden area which is Eric's is beautiful. Really beautiful. What is the purple plant on the fence?

Eric it's ok to get scared. Sometimes that is the best thing to be if there is something bad that could hurt you to be super aware.

  22. We don't think Eric was scared. We think he was puffing himself up to show how tough he was!

    Eric's roses are beautiful.

  23. I love seeing Eric's rose and I too would love an additional picture of it. I love seeing the entire scent however. That looks rather like a rose on the fence made from the beautiful purple glowers climbing.

Eric or Flynn, it's OK to get scared. That's what keeps you vigilant. xoxo

  25. Aw, Eric wasn't really scared--he was just, uh, interested. Yep, that's it! Me, on the other hand, well, EVERYTHING scares me. Towels scare me, boxes scare me, bags scare me....see? Everything!

Hey, I heard you are going to meet Aiti! If the Human wasn't such a scaredy cat herself, she'd get right on a plane to join you!

  30. *sigh* we honestly can't recall if we were reading these posts while driving to another state and that's why our comments aren't here (because we read but couldn't comment easily on the phone) or if our mom's just LOSING it.

We thought we wrote about how lovely Eric's garden is. But evidently not! May we tell you now that it's just GORGEOUS and a beautiful way to commemorate him?

  31. I love Erics Rose!
We get really scared sometimes too and don't tell Dad either. Better to keep some things among us cats.
