Return of the Hunter and an Update

Thank you again for all the purrs. They do seem to be working. The vet rang my mum today and said the bacteria culture from my urine sample was negative so that rules out a UTI.
I am feeling a lot better in myself and only have occasional diarrhoea now and no vomiting. I am still getting my appetite pills but only every 48 hours and am eating fairly well with them, although I am still not putting on weight. My next one is due Thursday morning but mum is going to see if I still eat if I don't get it. If I don't eat much by midday, then I will still get them for a bit longer.

Mum has decided she needs to cut back on my blogging a bit. Don't worry we will still be here. When Eric was still with us we used to post almost every day, but when he had to leave us we cut back to 4 or 5 times a week. Mum feels that she is spending too much time on the the computer so we need to cut back a bit more. Eric will always have his Friday Flashback day and I will post at least once a week. maybe twice.
I will also keep you all up to date with my health.
Maybe during the cold wet nights of winter we may do a bit more again. I am still being very good to take my thyroid pills. Dad holds me and mum pops it back my throat and washes it down with a very small syringe of water.
Anyway, that's enough of that. Here is what you have been waiting for, me back in the fields looking for those mousies.
Mum asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. Lately she or my dad carry me to the field and back so I don't tire myself too much. I told her there was no need, I wanted to lead the way. We went in to the nearest field and I went up to the long grass.
I hear mousies!

There is something here.

Mum said I looked like I was going to disappear down the mousie hole.

Well mum, you're wrong. It isn't a mousie hole......

it's a mousie nest and I've dug it out.

Now I have to see if there are any mousies that I have evicted.
I did find one half grown mousie and grabbed it quick. Mum told me I was a good boy and to not eat it.
Are you joking! After I went to the trouble of catching it.
She was going to take it away from me so I ran off up the field and nommed it before she could get there. I didn't give her chance to get a photo of it. She wasn't very pleased with me and said eating mousies was not a good idea as I had been so ill. I don't care though, it was very tender and tasty.

  1. A Man Cat's got to do what a Man Cat's got to do! Sounds like you've got a bit of your mojo back. With all the TLC you're getting we hope this continues. We'll miss hearing/seeing you so often but wish you lots of tender mouse-ies and sun puddles. Eat well and be well.

  6. It’s great to see you feeling friskier, Flynn. Hmmm, Do you think you may have eaten something that wasn’t good for you and that could be causing the blood and maybe the squirts?

We understand about your mum taking a break, don't blame her. Sometimes we don't make it on here for a week or so. Everyone understands and you have to do what you have to do. :)

  22. Flynn, we're glad you're UTI-free, that's great news. And super that you were feeling well enough to catch a mouse and run and eat it before your mum could get to you. Heh heh. Way to go!

As for the blogging: Well, our human hasn't posted for us in a month, has sadly lost interest--she was finding the same thing -- she was spending FAR too much time in front of the computer, all day at work and then in the evenings too. That's not much of a "real" life, if you know what we mean. Better to spend the time with you, Flynn, and with your dad, etc. Check in when you can, but oh, we all understand having to cut back!

    Peace.

  26. It's good to see you active, Flynn. And it's understandable about the blogging. It does take up time.

The fact that you wanted to eat the mouse shows that you do have an appetite! If the pills you are taking are for hyperthyroidism, don't forget that there is an ointment that can be rubbed in the ears, if you ever decide not to like your pills any more. My Tungsten gets that, and it's no problem at all giving it to her.

    Continued improvement to you, Flynn.

Glad Flynn's urine came back with no bacteria. Have you thought about doing an ultrasound? Tanner had some blood in his urine before he was diagnosed with the kidney cancer...blood can be a lot of things, but thought I'd mention that.

    Mousies are calories too.
We are so glad that you are up to your manly mancat antics. But remember to take it slow. Even manly mancats have to recover when they are ill. Your mum knows best, so you should probably try to listen to her. (I don't, but you should.)

  47. Wow! We don't have Real mousies here what build nests we can get at. Its all moles and voles here and they stay in tunnels. We can only get at the growed-up ones cuz the nests are deep under. Well, OK, we did find that youngish one couple weeks ago when it must have wandered toward the light.

Good fer you fer running off an eating it before Mum could take it away! But we're confused why she wanted to. What could be more natural food?

  50. Flynn we love seeing you outside again! Pls tell your mum not to worry, we totally understand. My Mum decided that come 2015 she is cutting waaaaaaaaay back. She has her sights set on something in 2015 that has NOTHING to do with blogging, and that is where Mom will be focusing her energy. She will still blog, but is hoping to do so MUCH less! Love, Cody

  51. Flynn - the more we blog, the more we realize that it can be too overwhelming and that cutting back is in order. We all understand and the important thing is to be happy and to enjoy the moments you have with your family. Purrs of love to you and yours from the Zee and Zoey Gang!
