Friday Flashback and Caturday Art.

I wasn't going to do an update this week but I had a phone call from my oncologist a couple of days ago. He said that the neurology team who looked after me in the hospital have had a very in depth look at my brain scan. They are convinced it is not a tumour, cancerous or otherwise. They think it is an abnormality of a blood vessel. It may have caused the TIAs or been caused by them but at the moment they don't know. Instead of having another MRI 3 weeks after the last one they now want to do it after 2 months so they can monitor what is happening if anything.
It is very good news to know that it is not a further spread of the cancer and Ivor and I are very relieved.

The Path.
Dad has cut a path around the edge of our smallest field with his strimmer. He doesn't do it in all the fields, but the grass never dries very well around the edges here when he cuts it to make hay. It makes it easier for us to walk around as well.

We have the choice of sitting in the long or the short grass.

It makes it easier to catch the mousies in the hedge too.

And after a mousie, it's always nice to finish your meal with a bit of long grass.

The random photo this week has been chosen by Meezers Mews and Terrieristical Woofs.
They asked for July 25th and this is  from 2006.

When it was hot Eric used to like to lie out in the bath. You can see his muddy footprints around the edge! The pieces of towel stuffed down between the handles were because they would both race around the edge of the bath and we worried they could slip and get a leg caught or worse broken.

I am joining Athena, the Cat Goddess for Caturday Art.

For Eric's photo I started with Floating at 40% then added Sadness at 20%.

For this photo I started with Smoke at 55% and added Landscape at 40%.
Now I have done them they both look a bit dark but will have to do.

  2. This is terrific news! We hope that your next MRI will not show anything amiss.

We love the artwork. Not sure if a mouse followed by a grass chaser would actually have stayed down, though. Haha.

  4. I LOVE great news like that! It sure must have been a huge load off your and Ivor's minds.

(I had good labwork regarding my cancer marker, too...it went down, even from last year's. Hooray for both of us!)

Thanks for that random picture...July 25, 2006...oh my! Just before that is when I got the notice of having stage 3b cancer...and on that selfsame day hubby and I spent part of our 19th anniversary in the doctor's office, discussing options. Soon we'll be celebrating 34 years! I often say I am a living miracle!)

  18. Such an uplifting "happy dance" update! Power of prayers at work yet again. And how thoughtful of Dad to cut a path for the boys. Yes, even for humans, much easier not having to wade through tall grasses. Your artwork is as always creative and enjoyed. Thanks for sharing - Jean

  24. What good news. The body gets up to strange things, and many of them can be scary. But this will no doubt be a good weekend for the two of you.

And the boys on the farm... What adventures they could get up to. Eric in the tub reminds me of all the improvsisations pet-people devise to make their homes safe for their furry family members.

  34. Happy ta read the good news!

Nice that the boys had a path. Seeing around is safer.

Smiled at the pawprints on the bath. We tend ta leave ours on the car. TBT leaves them as advertisements of his interest in cats when he parks at stores.
