Sunday Selfies.

The weather has been horrible lately so I am not going outdoors very much. Instead I am spending most of my time either on the bed or by the fire.
I set the timer and I have one eye on it to make sure it works properly, and then I can take my easy.

I am joining the Kitties Blue at The Cat on my Head for the Sunday Selfies. Click on the link to see others who are taking part.

I put an update on my post on Wednesday about my vet visit, but several people have asked how I got on. If you didn't see it, I have repeated it below.

Update   (from Wednesday)
My vet said I was looking good when he saw me this morning. He listened to my heart and was pleased with it. Mum told him she was worried last week that I was peeing a lot and gave him the sample she got from me.
The bad news is that the blood in urine reading is once again very high, so I am back on the Oxycare pills for 2 weeks to clear it up again. That is the downside of being on prednisalone. The dose is very low, 1mg twice a day which is not high enough that it could suppress my immune system, but it can still make me more susceptible to infections. We have to weigh the pros against the cons though, and the pred is the only medication I have been able to tolerate which is keeping my T4 numbers from going through the roof. Even the natural products I have tried made me ill again, so if I want a good quality of life I have to keep with the Pred.
Because of the infection, my vet said he wouldn't steal my blood today so that means I got starved for nothing! Mum will test my urine herself at the end of my course of tablets, and if the blood is gone I will go for my blood test then. I hope that doesn't mean I get starved again. Thanks everyone for your continued purrs for me.

  6. Your bed looks so cozy and DEEP, Flynn! Our The Baby takes pred every day also...it was that or a life of much diminished quality and Mommy opted for (possibly) less time together but fat and sassy; which she is once again. We hope your pee is better soonest!

  8. It's been cold as day old food sitting in the fridge....*shivers*. The wind is enough to blow any loose furs to Borneo.. This is just November....I'll be scared to go near the door by February...shhheeesh!

I didn't know you were on a prednisone type of medication. Kali was on pred when she had a whole load of problems with her tummy. Mom goes on prednisone every once and awhile for her RA.......just when it flares. She has to watch for infections all the time. She is on other meds which effect her immune system. So we know what a hassle it is but otherwise you sound tip top my friend.

  14. Hello my Ginger Buddy.....you really look VERY comfy in the bed all snuggled down keeping warm. I am sorry you have another UTI and I do hope after your meds you'll be feeling better so you can get your T4 tested. I had to begin taking another half pill in the evening as my T4 was too high. The first two days I was VERY sick.....Mom thought it was the meds but yesterday I was FINE and today so far I'm FINE so just a tummy bug maybe?!?! Hang in there with me my friend - this journey with thyroid is NOT FUN but we must be brave for our Moms and Dads!!!!!

    Love, Sammy

  38. That's the worst, isn't it. When you get starved for NOTHIN', I mean. Last Monday, Mason had to have a dental so ALL OF US got starved. I guess it wasn't really for nothing because Mason did have her dental but still... I think I lost a whole pound or something. Yup, I was THAT hungry by Monday morning. MOUSES!

But very, VERY happy to hear your doctor said you were looking good.
