OOOOH! Mom wants to put her face in your tummy! Mom just read a book, 'Adolphus Tips', That took place in Devon in 1943-44. Now she is going to the internet to see if any of it is based on history. A big area of coast line was evacuated so the Americans could practice landing on a beach, preparing for D Day! It takes place around Slapton Sands and there was a Hotel called Slapton Beach Hotel. She knows it is just a story, but her Dad was in England before he went to France. It is a small book but was very entertaining.
Thank you so much for the link. ! have read much of it and will probably spend the afternoon reading the rest. My Dad would have loved this bit of history!
We are ginger and white brothers and enjoy sharing our adventures together walking in the fields. Sadly Eric left for the Rainbow Bridge on 19.03.2013. I joined my brother on 1st May 2017 so now we are together again for all time.
