As you know, the Beans deserted us for the weekend and only came back Monday night. Of course that meant none of this walking in the grass. Instead we were locked up on Saturday morning and we were not happy about it.
This is why they left us. They went to the Beretta Shooting Championships and dad was going to shoot lots of pigeons. We asked him to bring the fev-vers home for us, but he said they were made of clay not fev-vers. We never heard anything so silly. Whoever heard of fev-vers made of clay?
This is our dad shooting the clay fev-vers. The man sitting down keeps score of how many he gets.
He had to go to fifteen different stands and get as many as he could. He knew he wouldn't be a high scorer because all the top shooters were there, but he went for the experience. He had to use a Beretta gun which he hadn't used before because his own gun is a Browning and he wouldn't be allowed to use that. Mum said she thought he did very well anyway.
When mum wasn't watching the shooting, she watched the huge fev-vers in the lake.
It looks like dad found it very tiring. He fell asleep when he got back to the hotel.

Hi Eric and Flynn. How disappointing that there are no fev-vers! Clay fev-vers. I've never heard of such things. Do you think he was dreaming about clay fev-vers when he was sawing logs?
ReplyDeleteThey certainly had a more interesting weekend than you two did. It must be exhausting staring at clay pigeons that don't flap their wings.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been an interesting experience for your dad, though.
Cool! I wish he could have brought you back some feathers though!
ReplyDeleteWe was confused so we asked mom about dis stuff and she sed dey is clay pijuns dat fly and dat dey gets shot and dat gives da person shooting points...den she sed here dey call it "shooting skeet"...now we're even more confoozed.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your beans has great trip!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad about the clay fevvers but now your Mum and Dad are back home with you!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like your beans had an interesting weekend. We are glad your dad did well. Taking a nap afterward sounds like what we would do.
ReplyDeleteTavi, Cody, Camie, Miss Jade and Gracie
Clay fev-vers? That sounds like a bad dream to me! How dare they have fun without you!
ReplyDeleteWhy not shoot real pigeons? He can come here and get lots and lots of mourning doves. Mum is mad as they had their babies, now they come to the feeder and hog all the food.
ReplyDeleteP.S. The package came today. Thanks.
What? Fevvers made of clay? Craziness! So glad your dad did well!
ReplyDeleteI think you two are far more interesting. But I would have liked to know: did your Dad get better than he expected or about what he expected?
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry you were left alone but glad they are home now. How many fev-ver-less pigeons did your Dad shoot?
ReplyDeleteWe hope your beans had a good time, enough to make it worth their while to abandon you two gorgeous boys for a whole weekend! The nerve!
ReplyDeletePurrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
Wow! Look at those BIG white fev-vers!
ReplyDeleteHugs from the topcatrules girls.
Your dad should have potted one of those swans, they would have never missed him.
ReplyDeleteGlad they were out having fun.
hooray for your dad!
ReplyDeleteClay? That doesn't sound tasty at all!
ReplyDeleteNo...fevvers? They left you all cooped up to go off by themselves and couldn't even bring you back one little fevver? How rude!
ReplyDeleteClay fev-vers??!? That doesn't sound worth shooting at all! Beans do some weird things!
ReplyDeleteBut we're glad they are home now and you can get back to roaming your fields!
Clay fevvers? Sounds like an interesting species!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad that you are out of prison! :)
It looks like they had a nice time ~ which is worrying ~ 'cos it means they might want to do it again!
ReplyDeleteWe think clay fevers would be heavy...do those birds fly?
ReplyDeleteSniffie and the Florida Furkids
Oh, the human pet's boyfriend would have certainly enjoyed the clay pigeon shooting. He was top marksman in his military class! That just sounds exciting!
ReplyDeleteIt is just a well they didn't bring any fevvers back. They do not sound very delicious.
ReplyDeleteSorry they didn't bring any fev-vers for you, but I don't think you'd really like the clay ones anyway. I'm sure your dad did great, no matter how many he shot.
ReplyDelete--Jasper
It seems a little bit unfair that your mom and dad got to have fun while you were confined!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks like a great weekend, at least for the beans in the family! And I'm glad to hear that daddybean was only shooting clay birdies.
ReplyDeleteThat swan is gorgeous. We have lots of them swimming in the canal that runs through our city (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada).
Well, at least Eric and Flynn have their freedom again now, and I'm sure they survived just fine!
Glad to hear dad had fun!
ReplyDeleteEven if there were no real fevvers involved. And how good the grass must feel on your paws again!
