Uh oh, mum's got more photos to show. I'm going to make myself scarce!
After we left Pompeii we traveled down the coastal road to Sorrento.
We only had a brief stop there as a tunnel was closed and the traffic was very heavy and we said we would stop there on the way back when we knew how much time we had to spend there.
We went on down to Positano and the views from the road was spectacular.
While we were there we thought we would choose our new car!
We all walked down to the beach and had lunch in a restaurant with the terrace looking out onto the sea. It was a very steep walk to get down there and seemed even steeper going back, but the food and the setting made it well worth the effort. After a long leisurely lunch we returned to Sorrento and explored the pretty town and then made our way back to the ship to head off to the Greek Isles.

What a lovely visit--but I know how you feel Eric. I leave when the Woman brings out the Alaska photos!
ReplyDeleteEverything sure looks pretty...come back Eric!
ReplyDeleteOMG I'm sooo jealous! It looks amazing. What did you eat? Was the wine terrific?
ReplyDeleteErik, I'm not like you. If I can't get there, I want to hear all about it.
How spectacular! It must have been so romantic!

ReplyDeleteHmmm, the humans should reward you with tuna for sharing your blog!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely photos tho.
Wow -- just, wow. Personally, I like to holiday upstairs on the big bed or, if I can sneak in... the young boy's bedroom. However, the humans would probably LOVE to go to Italy.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back.
And love the car. Are you going to drive it around the main roads of Devon? :)
My Mom and I visited Pompeii and spent the night in Sorrento several years ago. We loved it. Thank you for sharing your pictures. Eric and Flynn, as long as your Mom is boring you, how about coming to Herman's Gotcha Day party. It's going on now.

ReplyDeleteMy mom is sighing over these pictures and now she wants to pack an evil suitcase and abandon me so she can go visit these wonderful places.
What's more wonderful than staying home with me?
Our mom says those are wonderful pictures and she's happy you shared them with us. She loves how those houses and buildings are built right into the mountain side.
ReplyDeleteFab pics. It so takes me back ... I last went to Italy some 20 years ago.

ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us to such lovely and interesting places. We are sort of house bound with Gram in her final days. So we especially appreciate a chance to see the sights and have an excellent narrative all about them. We are sure we would have wanted never to leave.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it have been just too fantastic to see the flats in the drivers seat of those costly, dream wheels!
Beautiful pictures! What a great trip.
ReplyDelete--Jasper
