We have had three days of dry weather which means we can go for walks again. We went down to our favourite oak tree.
Flynn: I sharpened my claws ready so I could climb up it.
Up I go! The big trunk goes two ways here.
You will have to be faster than that with the flashy box mum.
I am on my way back down. It is a long way up so mum had to zoom in to see me. Then we had the biggest surprise....
Eric ran up the tree!
Eric: I haven't climbed this tree for a long time so I wanted to show mum and Flynn I can still do it.
Here I am back down in the fork of the trunk.
When I got nearly to the bottom I looked up the other side. Flynn doesn't climb up there because it is vertical and hard to get back down. Mum shouted, "Eric! Don't even think about it. You will get stuck."
Well I didn't think about it, I did it, and yes I did get stuck. Mum had to get up to the fork in the tree then reach her arm up to me so I could walk down it and onto her back and then jump the rest of the way down.
Mum was really surprised at how energetic I was as I am spending a lot of time lying around. I have days when I feel better than others and I wanted to show her I can still climb a tree when I want to.
I go back to the vet in a week's time for more blood tests. I still won't eat the high protein wet food but Flynn loves it. I am eating some of the dry food though which is high protein, gluten and wheat free too. We changed from a dry and wet food diet about three years ago to all wet which I wasn't pleased about as I always liked the crunchies the best, so now I am glad to be back on crunchies even if mum doesn't think it is ideal.

ReplyDeleteMom and Dad have just changed Audrey over to a different dry food that does not contain corn and wheat. They think it might be better for her digestion.
