Mancat Monday.

We looked out of the cat flap and saw it wasn't raining, so that meant we could go for another walk.

Checking for any new sniffs.

Ahh, here's one.

Do you notice the end of my tail? I have been to the vet twice recently because I have a lot of muscle wastage on my hindquarters. We don't know what is causing it, and if I hold my tail up, I can't use the muscles to straighten the tip.

My sides are starting to sink in but I like to play and go for walks still and have been eating reasonably, but not as well as usual.

I nearly managed to get out of this photo before mum took it! You can see here though how much muscle wastage I have. Mum says I am like two different cats, big at the front and small at the back. I have to go back to the vet this week so if you have any purrs to spare I would appreciate them.

  14. Oh darling Eric! We need to know when you are not feeling your tip-top so we can send our prayers and purrs and love to you. When we kitties work together, we've got the power! Might we ask if you are eating one of those renal diets? Wasting is one of the side effects. And has the vet checked your thyroid? We started our prayers for you before we posted . We love you like you were our very own. God bless you , special one.

  21. It is so difficult on us Momma's when our babies reach their mature years and stuff starts happening. I hope your vet can help you thrive!

I've been reading quite a bit on proper hydration in cats (because of Gandalf's FLUTD) and how it can effect so many areas of their overall health. Actually, that's my mission of late, making sure I get at least 3 ounces of water a day in all of the Gs. And 8 glass a day in ME!

Prayers and purrs from me and the Gs!

  34. Eric, buddy! I can imagine that all these trips to the vet are not much fun for you - but sometimes a mancat has to do what is necessary. Especially when it comes to health problems. Pellie will say lots of prayers for you - so that the vet can figure out what the cause is. As for me I send you lots and lots of purrs.

    Purrs,
