Mancat Monday

Flynn:  There are lots of mousie runs here and I have heard movement.

I'm going to get you mousie!

Told you so!

Eric:  You aren't going to eat it are you? You know mum doesn't want you to.

Flynn:  Grrrrrrr keep away from my mousie.

Eric Update:
The first day he had the high protein all natural wet food he ate it right up. Since then he has turned his nose up at it. I bought some high protein additive and gluten free dry food which he is eating. He seems to eat better every other day, not large amounts but at least he has not totally lost his appetite.
Someone said in a comment on his Easy Like Sunday post that he was holding his tail up better. I have to admit to the photo being 3 or 4 weeks old and taken before it got "the droop". It still droops at the end but has got no worse. He is as lively as usual, jumps on and off the bed with no problem and some mornings plays THoE with Flynn. It is a puzzle what is causing the muscle wastage.

  8. Hunting is a good sign but seeing a tail straight up would make us happy. Odin had a droopy tail recently and upon close examination found the source. It turned out to be a hotspot. It healed and the tail is up again. re: eating, as long as he's eating something is good. How is Flynn treating him?

  9. don't feel bad, we wouldn't be allowed to eat that either....

    keep eating buddy!!

  10. I'm so happy you are eating and do thing as usual. Mom used to read some article about the muscle wastage. When you are a senior cat it happens, but as long as you don't have a problem with walking or when mom touch you butt you don't feel pain. It should be a good sign, Eric

Fynn, I think first time you said you are going to get Eric a mousie ; ) I guess you change your mind.

Still purrs and Paws crossed for you Eric
    ((( Hugs )))

  18. Apes just don't understand how good fresh mousie tastes. They are missing out on a treat.

Eric, please eat your new grub. If you don't like that one, there are other high protein, no grain foods available in the UK now (your vet might have other ones to try too) We have one called Bozita, which we like sometimes. Our ape buys it online.

We hope you get that tail up soon!

  19. We hope Eric's Vet will be able to find out what is causing his loss of appetite soon - although if he is eating better every other day at least he is getting nourishment. Glad to hear he is still jumping up and down off the bed.

  22. Fresh mousie snacks!

Keep eating the good stuff, Eric. Some of our seniors suffered from muscle wastage, and except for when it was accompanied by neuropathy with Louie's diabetes, our vet didn't have any real clue about it, either. Eric sounds like he's clear of that, so it sounds like one of those frustrating senior cat mysteries. We're purring for you, Eric.

  23. Glad to hear that Eric is eating something because that will help keep his strength up. I am purring my loudest for my pal and mum says you are all in her thoughts xx

  35. What a good mouser you are Flynn. We don't like to eat the mouses. We just surround them and play with them until they expire from exhaustion. I guess that's not very nice, bur we are cats after all. Eric, we are glad that there are lots of things you can do, but you must eat…please! 42. We're still purring for Eric and keeping him in our thoughts. I'm sure your Vet would have to ok this...but Glogirly wanted me to tell you about some freeze dried sprinkles (mine are Chicken) that we got from a company called Cat Man Do. They are tiny little chunks of freeze dried chicken that can be sprinkled on top of wet or dry food. I really like them and something like this might make your food seem more appealing.
