OLD READER.
Well I tried but have given up with Old Reader. I found that a lot of posts were taking 8-12 hours to show up and suspected a lot were being missed as I was only getting 25-30 a day which is well down on what I was getting from Google Reader. Yesterday I tried Feedly and marked everything as read when I went to bed. This morning I had 49 posts updated which confirms I have been missing a lot of them. I had a clear out of inactive blogs while I was about it and have got my reading list down to 199. If I normally comment but haven't been lately, would you leave your url in a comment so I can check you are in my reader. Thanks.

I read somewhere that the Old Reader was simply overwhelmed by GReaders and their servers just wasn't up to the task. Feedly has been better. I like it much more than Bloglovin, although I'm sure BL love their feeds.
Still hate the GR left us all out in the lurch.
Everyone deserves a day off even our pets.

Once we tinkered with Feedly settings (a lot), we have been fairly happy with it. Somewhere in the switchover between Google Reader and Feedly, we lost a bunch of blogs -- probably because we were following new ones in GR instead of Feedly, or vice versa -- and we're still discovering blogs we thought we were following that we lost touch with. You aren't alone in thinking this is a bit of a mess!
Those grasshoppers should thank their lucky stars! They would be toast around here - we NEVER take it easy when there is a grasshopper to catch!
We've had a ton of grasshoppers here too. Fortunately we are not so good of hunters as you all are! I hope you have ours but you have been around so we think you do!

Grasshoppers can be quite crunchy.
The woman hasn't sorted out a reader to use yet, she mainly comments on links on the catblogosphere and any other blogs that comment on ours.
Those grasshoppers are fun to chase.

The mom gave up on Old Reader too for the same reasons as you. She's been using Feedly or another new one she found...AOL Reader.
We're going to have rains today, so we think the grasshoppers here will have to be safe!

Talk about a Blog Hop! You've got grasshoppers! Interactive cat toys! Teri is still bumbling around with BlogLovin' but as weird as it sounds, she still sees blogs come up on her Google Reading List too. Maybe that isn't the same thing as Google Reader but new posts show up on her Blogger Dashboard. Still, we haven't been able to get her to make time to visit much, but are trying to visit those of our friends who are leaving us comments...like you! Teri needs to clear out her blogroll too...it's on that never ending list of To-Do's she says!

We've been using Feedly, too, but it seems kind of buggy.
We have been using Feedly for several weeks now. Painless conversion from Google Reader.
