Eric's Day Flashback.

This Flashback is from the end of December 2007.

The weather has been very wet lately, so we haven't been for many walks with mum. We usually stay in the garden while she goes out to do the horses and gets soaking wet.
Dad has been home more for Christmas so he took us for a walk and it started to rain again. He asked us if we wanted to go in the barn so we didn't get too wet. Well we don't mind getting wet, but it seemed like he did, so we said ok he could go in the barn if he wanted to.

We were sniffing around and we could smell rats and mousies. Then we saw a ladder leaning against the straw, so we didn't even have to jump up, we just walked up the ladder, right up to the top of the barn.

It was really high up and we could touch the roof with our heads.

We didn't find any mousies though. They must have heard us coming.

Then mum came back from putting the horses out in their fields, and it had stopped raining, so we went back down the ladder and all went for a walk together.
It was good just relaxing in the barn then having a nice quiet stroll.

    We liked remembering Eric and Flynn's younger days as "Barn Cats for a Day" with you. If there had been any unwary voles that day, they would not have had a chance against your dynamic duo.

    Oh there is nothing better that a huge stack of straw or hay. There are just so many places to hide and hunt for the mice.

    You can walk up AND down the ladder? Goodness! Such good climbers! Your barn looks like such a wonderful place; a great spot on a rainy day. Your dad made sure you stayed dry and had fun. What a good dad and mum you have.

    A hayloft is better than any cat tree! The hay is great insulation for feral or barn cats. Great seeing the boys together.
