The weather has been very wet lately, so we haven't been for many walks with mum. We usually stay in the garden while she goes out to do the horses and gets soaking wet.
Dad has been home more for Christmas so he took us for a walk and it started to rain again. He asked us if we wanted to go in the barn so we didn't get too wet. Well we don't mind getting wet, but it seemed like he did, so we said ok he could go in the barn if he wanted to.
We were sniffing around and we could smell rats and mousies. Then we saw a ladder leaning against the straw, so we didn't even have to jump up, we just walked up the ladder, right up to the top of the barn.
Then mum came back from putting the horses out in their fields, and it had stopped raining, so we went back down the ladder and all went for a walk together. It was good just relaxing in the barn then having a nice quiet stroll.
That looks like some pretty awesome hunting grounds!
ReplyDeleteThat was a wonderful day fur sure!
ReplyDeleteThat looked like it was fun in the hayloft.
ReplyDeleteI love the flashbacks and seeing the two of you. Your adventures always made me and mommy smile. Now Flynn's adventures are our treat each day he blogs. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWe liked remembering Eric and Flynn's younger days as "Barn Cats for a Day" with you. If there had been any unwary voles that day, they would not have had a chance against your dynamic duo.
ReplyDeleteYour barn looks like a fun place to explore.
ReplyDeleteSuch warm and happy flash back!!
ReplyDeleteLove it.

ReplyDeleteThat looked like lots of fun!

Oh there is nothing better that a huge stack of straw or hay. There are just so many places to hide and hunt for the mice.
ReplyDeleteGood to see pictures of you two together. Have a great day.
You can walk up AND down the ladder? Goodness! Such good climbers! Your barn looks like such a wonderful place; a great spot on a rainy day. Your dad made sure you stayed dry and had fun. What a good dad and mum you have.
ReplyDeleteWow you were such a tree dwelling kitty! Love, Cody

ReplyDeleteIt's fun for us to see the flashbacks too.

That looks as if it was quite an adventure and oodles of fun. Even though three of us came from the TNR/Rescue group, Barn Cat Buddies, we have never seen the inside of a barn. MOL, HO, HO, HO! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet memories!! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the memories and we love your snowflakes background! Purrs from the Zee and Zoey Gang!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific memory that is. We love the pictures of Eric and Flynn up in the barn loft. :)
ReplyDeleteLovin seeing Eric again!
ReplyDeleteWe don't know how we missed Eric's post! Moms been on the iPaw and things come across differently on it! But we love this and we are so glad to visit with Eric again!
ReplyDeleteA hayloft is better than any cat tree! The hay is great insulation for feral or barn cats. Great seeing the boys together.
ReplyDeleteI think I might be able to go UP that ladder, but it looks pretty skeery coming down! You were brave boys!
ReplyDeleteSo nice of your dad to bring you in to the barn with all that hay to climb around in !
ReplyDeleteXOXO
