Both boys loved to climb trees.
Flynn made his first ascent of the elderberry tree when he was about 2 months old.
It was not long after that Eric joined him when they discovered they could climb up the inside of the Leylandii hedge.
Flynn soon went on to greater heights...
but Eric preferred to try closer to home hoping for a flying snack to arrive.
The higher Flynn could get, the better he liked it.
Sometimes Eric would venture higher, but it usually ended with me having to rescue him.
It didn't stop him trying though.
Flynn was fearless and would walk out on the flimsiest looking branches,
but even he would sometimes find himself in trouble, but always got himself back down safely.
Sometimes there was a queue to get back down.
Eric's favourite though was the tree stump where he could act at being King of the jungle.

They sure had some of the most amazing climbing adventures!
ReplyDeleteWe loved seeing Eric and Flynn climbing in the trees. They really got up high.
ReplyDeleteThat would scare the dickens out of me, watching the boys up there. But they obviously loved the exercise, and Flynn was indeed a master-climber!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't imagine how you rescued Eric when he got that high and was stuck! And that Flynn! As high as he got I am glad he could eventually get himself down. I have done some climbing to get a cat off of our greenhouse. Goofy kitty! Glad I was 15 years younger then.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these wonderful photos.
Hope you are doing well, Jackie.

The boys had lots of fun adventures climbing trees!
ReplyDeleteThe boys always got into some fun, some adventure and freedom. Me loves it too =^x^=, Me miss Melbourne, Australia in that way. But here, as you see too many dangerous stuffs I could get into...Like unbelievable for the city living so my adventure & my freedom will be limited. But it's not bad because I have my garden and I have street cat friends. I do a little bit of hunting with House Lizard ( not the water monitor ! ), frogs, bugs ( I like dragon flies ) and a mousie. Love your beautiful memories =^x^=
ReplyDeletethat is very impressing!!! and it reminds me of the kitten of our drama-neighbor... we needed the community workers to pick the cat from our giant walnut tree... ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh! My Goodness! What fun, and,
ReplyDeletea couple of real experts, when
it comes to climbing trees!
Love the one of Eric..waiting for
a flying snack! :).
Eric and Flynn were true "tree monkeys" and perhaps loved climbing more than any kitties we have known. Sammy was up a tree ONCE - chased up there by a big dog when he was tiny and David had to rescue him on a ladder. Teddy has shown no interest beyond leaping up about 3 feet on a tree - hanging there a few seconds and dropping to the ground. I have always loved how FEARLESS your boys were!
ReplyDeleteLove, Pam
Mum has never seen me climb a tree! Hehe!! What fun the boys had!! ❤️
ReplyDeleteFearless fellows.
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures and great fun to see them climbing the trees. It is always good to see those two angels. Jackie, I sure hope you are doing all right.
ReplyDeleteWe were thinking "jungle cats", reading these memories. They were superb climbers! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love this flashback. Eric and Flynn were both quite daring. Good thing they had mum to rescue them if needed. XO
ReplyDeleteExpurrt tree climbers!
ReplyDeleteOh I bet the views they had were wonderful! They were so good at climbing! Ping "was" my climber. Before they migrated into the house, they were outside kitties. Ping would climb the tree in the back of the house that sat near the roof. He would get up on top of the roof and play around up there for long periods of time.
ReplyDeleteMom is in love with these photos. Mauricio and Misty May used to be tree climbers, but have stopped. Eric and Flynn were amazing adventure cats. We cannot believe how high they climbed. Thanks so much for sharing these. Jackie, you continue to be in Mom's daily prayers. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

We know there are never any cat skeletons in trees, but our mom is amazed you could watch your boys without having some anxiety!
ReplyDeleteBoys...that scares my mom. Our Robin used to go up trees...she was our last outside inside girl. Once we had to get someone to help her down.
ReplyDeleteWe have always loved there cats in trees photos! There is something terribly magical about them. We remember the lovely pix of you and the old oak tree. We always thought your mum should write a book about those adventures. A fairy tale for children would be a lovely way to remember you both, not that we would ever, ever forget you two. You are family to us.
ReplyDeletevery cute! they sure had some great tree adventures
ReplyDeleteWonderful. The joy of trees!
ReplyDeleteIf I and Angel Minko could have been allowed outside, we would have had fun in all the trees around our yard. Mostly walnuts and cherry...with some oaks and catalpa.
ReplyDeleteYou two sure had a lot of areal excitement and entertainment.
We always loved seeing them climb. I (Ayla) was a climber too, but one day after a thunderstorm, I just stopped!
ReplyDeleteAwwww guys, your tree selfies are so epically epic, our ultimate fav though is pic #2 its amazing!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs
Basil & Co xox
Kitties sure do love height.
ReplyDeleteIn Mousies later years, her idea of 'height' was the bunk bed, or the kitchen table.
Kozmo is missing the tree in the back yard in Midway! He says he can't wait to get home and climb his tree. I wonder if I will ever get the chance to climb a tree....
ReplyDeleteYou guys look like experts!
Many Purrs
