Sunday Selfie - Kozal.

I have missed doing the Sunday Selfies, but this week I have a guest kitty taking part in the hop.
Meet Kozal, a 16 year old ginger mancat.

"Kozal is an absolutely gorgeous older boy who sadly suffers from arthritis. He loves watching all the coming and goings in the centre from his pen, and loves it when he gets the opportunity to have a play and a cuddle with one of our staff or volunteers. His condition makes it tricky for him to be picked up, but his previous owners told us that he loved pottering in the garden so we are hoping to find him a forever home with some outdoor space to stretch his legs. He would really benefit from a quiet, calm environment with no other pets or children to spend his twilight years - and of course an adoring owner to pamper him!"

I don't know why he was surrendered but hope that someone will give him a loving home to live out his golden years.

You may remember that back in June I was making a donation in memory of Eric and Flynn.
Laila and Minchie were the winners of the donation which I was to make to the shelter of their choice.

Their mom, Peggy very kindly said said she would like me to donate it to a shelter of my choice.
I decided I would sponsor a cat rather than make a one off donation.
The local shelter don't have the sponsorship scheme up and running yet and seems no nearer to it at the moment. Time was going on so I have sponsored through one that is, and of course I chose a ginger boy.

The only difference this makes is that we can only visit the cats in our sponsor pen if we are in that area rather than being able to visit regularly.

When the local sponsorship is eventually available I will be able to change if I want to.

Hopefully Kozal will soon get his forever home, but if not I hope he or his pen companions will have some more selfies to share in the future.

You can see more selfies with the Kitties Blue at The Cat on my Head.

  5. Thank you for featuring Kozal! We hope this will help him to fina a home!

We also think sponsoring a kitty is a great idea. Or sponsoring a human taking care of a kitten. Or a shelter. Whatever works :)

P.S. Koyal couldn't live at your place? <3 But we assume that you're not ready yet.

  6. Kozal is gorgeous! Clyde was also 16 when surrendered and he has arthritis, diabetes and kidney disease. He's almost 18 now and happy with us. There much to be done with supplements like chondroitin

  7. Jackie what a wonderful thing you're doing to sponsor Kozal. He's beautiful - sad that he was surrendered and we'd love for him to find a forever home to spend his golden years but he looks happy there.....we love his freckled nose and gorgeous eyes. He's a doll. Thanks for sharing his photo - hopefully it will help him find his HAPPY new forever.

Love and Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  8. He is a handsome boy!! It's great to be able to sponsor a kitty like that. Mum and I sponsor through Cats Protection where you sponsor a pen not the cat, which is great as we get told each time there is a new kitty and when it is adopted we can do the happy dance.

  13. Jackie
Eric and Flynn are for sure smiling from the Rainbow Bridge. Kozal is such a handsome senior boy. I want to think the best of whomever surrendered him maybe they were sick and could not care for him and never wanted to surrender him...that is my hope. However, I fear someone did not want to take care of him in his senior years. When you visit him give him a head rub from me and a nose tape from Madi

  18. Oh Jackie, I am so glad you are sponsoring Kozal. Gives you a nice Orange cat to love again.
The donkey Smoke is much better. He was on bute and he has quit lying down so much and just limping a little bit. So I am thrilled. I hope I can get them out of the barn soon and into a barn with a little paddock.
Hope you get to visit Kozal often.

  21. Look at all those nose freckles...even more than Eric. It always hurts our hearts when a kitty is surrendered, especially one that has less of a chance of being adopted. We'll pray that Kozal is lucky and gets a new forever home. Thanks for sharing him on the hop. 34. I hate seeing the oldsters without a home to retire to. I hope Kozal finds his - perhaps because of being here.

  35. I feel as do all our other friends here have expressed....that Kozal will have a mom or Dad very quickly. I can't imagine giving him over the way his former people did. But he is in a good and kind place--- so that helps mom and me as well deal with his news of being surrendered. Love and smoochies dearest Kozal.
