Friday Flashback - Tree Climbers Part 1 and 2.

This week the flashback comes from July 2012 and these are two posts that followed each other a couple of days apart which I have put together.

Part 1. Eric: I leave most of the tree climbing to Flynn because it is much too energetic for me.

The other day we were walking past our favourite oak tree and I shot up it. I went so fast mum almost missed me.

She got a better picture when I walked along the branch though.
I am going to leave it to Flynn again but I showed him I can still do it.

Part 2. Flynn: Last week Eric surprised me by climbing up the tree. He hasn't done that for ages, but I thought I had better show him how a professional does it. I am not peeing here, I am eyeing up the tree.

Make sure my claws are good and sharp first.

Get ready to spring....

and up I go. Keep watching Eric.

This is the first fork in the big trunk and we used to sit in here together.

This is the harder part because it leans the wrong way.

But it is no problem to me and I am soon up higher.

Did you take note of all that Eric? I'm coming down now.

See, easy peasy!

No art again this week but of course there is a puzzle. The art will be back next week!

  12. Good Heavens! I’d be afraid one of them would get stuck up there. Coming down always seems tougher than going up. But then, Flynn was an expert.

  13. I do like your free style, Flynn, specially when you go up the tree !

  18. I am glad they were able to get down out of the trees by themselves! I generally have had to rescue mine in the past with a ladder!

  20. I've been thinking of building a tree-house for the cats, so they don't have to work so hard to get up there! Off to puzzle...

  30. I like to watch cats climb trees. Buddy hasn't been interested in climbing. He like to run to a tree and climb up a few feet and then jump back to the ground.

  31. BOYS! LOOK at the ease that the two of you conquered that gnarly old Oak! I am doubly impressed by your fortitude and strength...and handsomeness if I say so myself.

  32. I love Flynn's lesson for Eric on treeclimbing but it looks like he can do a pretty good job when he wants to.

  33. These are really terrific photos of the boys. We used to have some tree climbers around here when all the kitties were inside/outside, including Misty May and Mau. They don’t do it anymore. I guess at almost 15, they have decided it is too difficult. I know if Sawyer had the chance he’d be climbing trees. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
