Friday Flashback - Tree Climbers.

This week I have three posts, a one photo post, a full length post and ending with a baby Flynn post.
Post 1

Eric 25.06.07: Flynn keeps telling me I'm lazy and never do anything exciting .Mum says I can't climb trees for toffees, but why would I want toffees anyway? She says if I climb anything I'm like a camel coming down. Well here's the proof. I CAN CLIMB TREES!!! Nearly as well as Flynn too. I think I look very mancatly on lookout duty.

24.09.09  Flynn:  I am a good tree climber and I love to climb all trees. This is an old thorn tree and a lot of the branches are dead so I have to be careful. Eric is not a good tree climber, he usually watches me from the ground. When he does try to climb, mum says he is so awkward, he's like a camel coming back down.

Eric: It doesn't look so far up that tree now I am standing on the hedge. I wonder if I should try.

This isn't so hard, I think I will keep climbing.

Wow! Look how high I am. It looks dark up there with all the leaves and the ivy. I've had to turn my lasers on so I can see where I am going.

Hey Flynn! Look at me up here!

This is easy peasy! What do you mean Flynn, I need to go back? A dead branch? Okay I'm coming back.

It's a good job Flynn was watching, that branch could have broken and I would have crashed to the ground.

Flynn: I'm not taking my eyes off Eric until he's back down. I don't want him landing on my head.

26.03.10 (but photos taken around mid August 2000) Flynn:  If you intend to climb trees when you are a big Mancat, it is important to practice while you are a Mancat in Training. This is an Elderberry tree which I started on when I was nearly four months old.

It was good training because now I climb huge Oak trees.

I am joining Athena, the Cat Goddess for Caturday Art and have used the first photo of Eric in the tree.

I started with Landscape at 75% then added Flow at 22%.
There is also a puzzle.

  7. Those boys were tree-climbers extraordinaire alright. I showed the photos to Teddy and he said "if they could do it I could too". To date, the highest he has climbed has been about three feet. HAHA Your guys made it look EASY PEASY - they were special in EVERY way. The baby Flynn photos are so adorable....it's like he was playing on a piece of kindergarten playground equipment!

    Love, Pam

  9. Eric looked downright majestic in that first photo, like a lion. He may not have been able to climb as well as Flynn, but both boys looked good among the branches - especially when they were kittens, training to climb.

  15. Climbing up is easy but climbing down not always so easy. We usually have to be rescued with a ladder so we don't get to go up trees anymore!

  24. Those boys sure did enjoy their climbing, didn't they? I'm not sure how I'd do up in a tree, but I'm fairly certain dad wouldn't even let me start climbing. I can already hear his comments about my age and weight.

  25. Eric certainly did look furry mancatly on lookout duty. And well done to Flynn for keeping an eye on his brofur.

  30. What GREAT tree-climbing! I'm the only one who used to climb trees (well, Iza tried it a couple times but she is really TOO FAT to manage small branches like I did. And Marley never climbed a tree in his life.

I stopped doing it when I got caught up a tree in a thunderstorm. Backing down the trunk, the rain got in my nosie, and I REALLY HATED that. ~ AYLA

  31. I want to add mny appreciation of your kindness on the passing of my friend, Parker. The two of you know well what sadness comes from the passing of a furry family member, so I need only write, 'thank you.'

  32. We just love seeing flashbacks of the boys! Thank you for visiting our blog today, and we're so sorry we haven't been visiting. We hope Mommy's job will slow down soon.
