Friday Flashback. - On Patrol.

This week for the Friday Flashback I thought I would do something different and have put together a few very short Mancat Monday posts that would otherwise not get repeated.

ON PATROL.

Warning! These grounds are guarded by Mancats on Patrol!

Vishus Deer Lookout.
On our walk around the fields yesterday, we went down into our bottom field. It was very exciting because we don't get down there very often. We have to go through the field with the horsies and sometimes mum has to shout at them because they chase us. This is the field where the vishus deer go, so we make sure mum has a can of Mao and Rocky's Vishus Deer Repellent. I was doing my lookout duty for the vishus deer. I didn't see them but I bet they were watching us. It was okay though because me and Flynn are Mancats and we would protect our mum.

Sky Patrol.
High up in a tree is a good place to do your Mancat patrols.

Two Way Patrol.
It is easier for Mancats to purrtect their property if they both sit facing opposite directions so no introoders can sneak past.

Mousie Patrol.
Now there is some new hay in the barn, we have to work very hard on mousie lookout. We make sure mum pays us well with treats.

After Patrol Relaxation.
Hard working mancats need time to relax when they have made sure everything is safe.

I have used the first photo for my Caturday Art.
Using Lunapic as usual, I started with Beauty at 30% followed by Tuscany at 40% and finished with Frida at 30%

You can see more art with Athena the Cat Goddess.

Of course I have also made the art into a puzzle. Click on the small picture to go to Jigsaw Planet.

Mancat Monday Patrol.

The weather has been so bad that I haven't had much chance to do my patrols. The rain stopped for a couple of hours so I told mum we had better get out quick while we could.

Only time for a quick look around.

Come on, I think I smell something.

Hope no introoders have been introoding.

Come on mum, keep up!

sniff sniff sniff!

Whoa! Strange smell alert!

Definite introoder trespass situation here.

Seems like he is long gone so alert is over.

Looks like the rain is coming again mum. We had better get back.

I would like to stop and look for a mousie but the rain has started again.

Hurry up mum, you will get cranky if we get wet.

Eric's Day - On Patrol.

Eric always liked to patrol the fields so this week we have some photos of him doing that.

He liked to get a good vantage point to have a good look around.

An added bonus was using the tree stump as a scratcher.

Sometimes it was necessary to climb a tree.

He was sure of a good view from up there.

Walking through the jungle hunting mousies.

Stopping to eat them when he caught them.

Then of course he needed a drink to wash it down.

Of course eating and drinking means only one thing!

And after the patrol it was time to relax in the long grass together.

Still on Patrol.

Eric:  We are still trying to catch up with our patrols. It is hard work checking on introoder smells after you have been locked up.

We probably need to split up. We will cover more ground that way.

Flynn:  sniff sniff sniff.......

Yup, someone has definitely been here who shouldn't have.

Eric:  I am not happy about this.

Flynn:  Me neither......

It looks like we will have to put our paw down and stop them from going off every time they feel like it.

Guardians.

Mum is taking very short walks every day and we join her on her soft shoe shuffle on the way to the field.

When we get there, she sits on the patio chair that dad put there for her and takes photos of him taking a rest from working hard.

Eric: I stand in the middle of the field to make sure everything is safe for mum.

Yup, you're okay mum, no introoders around.

Flynn: I've been checking too and all looks safe. I'm coming to snuggle with you mum.

Phew! We never knew what hard work it would be looking after mum!

Vishus Deer Patrol

We have been very worried about the vishus deer ever since we heard about the woofie that got attacked. We know they hang out in the little wood at the bottom of our fields, so we thought we had better check them out and see if they were there. We don't want them attacking our Beans.

We had a good look from higher up and we couldn't see them. We decided it would be safe to go down there.

This is one of their favourite places amongst the trees.

We can't see any sign of them.

We thought it would be safe to stop and look at the primroses. This is where the vishus deer jump over the fence to come into the field. They knock the electric fence down and dad has to keep checking it so the horses don't get out.

On nice sunny days they like to lie in the sunspot behind the two trees.

Eric: Well we haven't seen any sign of them but all this walking has made me hot, so I had a paddle in the stream to cool my feet down.

That feels much better.

Hmm, there are some smells here. We think they have been this way.

Flynn: I will go up this tree so I can see further. You keep checking for their smell down there Eric.

Eric: Okay Flynn, I'm pretty sure they have been here recently.

Flynn: I'll go up higher so I can have a really good look.

Eric: I think it is all clear Flynn. The scent is getting weaker. I think they have gone for today.

After all that hard work we went on to the earth and enjoyed a nice refreshing roll.
