The Friday Flashback

This week's Friday Flashback comes from October 2007. One side of our garden has a high hedge but the other side had an ordinary hedge which we could jump over. That meant mum had to keep stopping what she was doing to make sure we hadn't wandered off, or worse still, we had to stay indoors until she took us for a walk. Dad decided to take the hedge down and build the Purrizen Fence. Now we can stay in the garden all day and mum calls us in when she goes to bed.
THE PURRIZEN FENCE

Yoo mite be wondering where the nice hedge that has lots of mousies living in it has gone. Well dad got a big masheen and it ate it. Cuz there wuz nuffin there after the masheen eatid it, dad had to build a fence to keep us in. It's like a purrizzin. What's this ladder doing here?

I better go up and haf a look and see what's out the uvver side

Hmmphhh nuffin diffrunt than yooshull, mite as well go back down.

Well if yoo had a look, I'm going to haf a look too.

Can't see ennyfing at all.

That's better, now I can see.Dad sed he built this big fence so we can stay in the garden all day if we want, and mum won't haf to keep watching us all the time. It's ok cuz she's still going to take us furr walks around the feelds too.

Did yoo see that skeery pikchur yesterday? There is a ghost living in our fence. Mum sez it is watching us to make sure we are good boys. Yoo bet we are going to be good!!

  1. Oh, Eric & Flynn, that is a magnificent fence! Our human artists want to put one like that around our yard so we can go out without our harnesses ... and so stray cats and woofies won't keep trying to make me hire them!

  8. We like the ladder pictures! Fun going up and down ladders! If I had been there I would have climbed the ladder too! That ghost in the fence is scarry!! We have an alien in one of our doors at our house, in the utility room. Mom thinks it watches when she takes a shower!

  9. I love this post, some great photos. Is the ghost still living in the fence?

Can I make a request for Flashback Friday please. I want to see the video of the mole being peed on again. That's my favourite ever. FAZ

  10. It's furry cool that you can now stay in the garden and the beans don't hafta worry about you...beans worry about stuff like that, like whether we're gonna run off or not....

It's good that you still get your walks in the field too!

  11. The fence in our backyard needs fixed because two dogs keep deciding to break through it. It's pretty fun, though, watching them wriggle underneath the fence and then bound free. I, of course, never tell anyone that a dog is on the loose. Whistles innocently...

  12. I've got a fence like that too. Only I know where I can squeeze underneath to get out!

  13. That's a great fence and as well as keeping you in it keeps you safe. We love all these pics of you up, down, up, down the ladder. They're such fun. We wish we could see the view over the fence though. Could you ask your Mom or Dad to go up that ladder and take a pic of what you can see please? Fanks.

  16. That last picture is scary!!!
Dad was so good to build a fence to keep you two safe, even though the mousie hedge has to go away.
We really like the ladder pictures!

  17. You two are so lucky to be able to go outside whenever you want to. Watch out for that ghost though! Is he still lurking around?

  19. That is a real neat fence.....wish we had one but the deck getting screened in will do. We have a real good view from up there. Now why did your Daddy leave the ladder there, doesn't he know curiosity is on the other side and it's dangerous=^Y^=Toy

  20. You two are the cutest purrizeners I has ever seen.

I am lucky, I am allowed to roam free, anywheres, anytime. I am a good girl though, and tend to stick pretty close to home.

  21. Wow! At least you get to go out. We just have to look out the window. :)

Hugs from the topcatrules girls. :)

  22. I remember this Flashback Friday! I think the prison fence is a good idea. It allows you two to be outdoors unsupervised :-)

  23. Purrizzin or not, at least you can stay in the yard all day now. I used to run the whole neighborhood before I got too old to keep up with the other cats around. Now they scare me and I'd rather just be home on the deck. No, wait, they don't scare me, I'm still a tough guy, I'm just afraid what I might do to them. Yeah, that's the ticket! I'll keep telling myself that...

  24. Great fence. We all havta stay inside now but we have a screen proch so it is nice in the summer with woods all around. You guys are lucky!

  25. Mom is nervous when I'm outside too. That's why she's out with me most of the time. We live in the city and the other people of the house all keep their bikes in the "garden". So the door isn't always closed and she's terrified I could run out on the street. Now, I wouldn't do that, but Chilli aka little Miss Crazy Cat could be a different story. She's only been outside on her fancy harness so far...
That fence looks safe and high - how cool that your mom can relax now!

  26. What a cool fence. Nice of your human to leave the latter out so you could get a look around. Great flashback.

But the fence-monster is a bit scary.
