Do you remember............

.............yesterday that I told you I caught a baby snake last week?

Well today I caught his big brother!
Mum is getting a bit worried now because I am not catching them in the fields, but in the garden. She said she won't be going out there in sandals or slippers any more.

  7. Are your snakes with poison? Mum is happy we don't have them around here, not even the ususal garden snakes.

  8. Goodness, now that's a great sign for British wildlife - but possibly not too good for you if you can't wander about shoeless. But these are grass snakes, right? Not adders?

  11. Flynn what a great hunter you are. Now I like hunting lizards and mice but I don't know about snakes. There were snakes where we used to live but I never saw any. Mom said she saw a pretty green and black one once and Pirate, a long time ago kitty, played with it. We had to watch out for rattlesnakes there.

We want to Thank so much for stopping by and wishing us a great blogoversary.

  14. Oh Flynnie! You must be careful! Even if they are not poisonous kind, a bite is a bite!
There is still bacteria introduced into the bite and the bite may hit a nerve tract .
We love you and Eric so much. Please leave the snakes alone. What do you think is drawing them into your garden?

  15. Oah my goodness!!!
    You are very good!!!
But please also be careful ok!!

  16. Well done Flynn!

They're grass snakes and completely harmless. Bites from grass snakes are extremely rare.

Grass snakes mainly defend themselves by generating a rather pungent smell

  21. Yikes!! We hope they don't get any bigger, Flynn! Our mom says she'd stay out of the garden too!

  22. Flynn--that isn't a cobra is it?? I mean, it IS bigger!! You would hear Tommy screamin' all the way to England if we brought her one of those...such a hunter you are!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mum says if we brought her a snake in like that we would see her disappearing into the distance in two seconds!! She says to tell your mum nothing less than waders outside would be enough for her!

  24. Oh my cats Eric and Flynn you better get Mom some stilts so that she can walk outside. There is no way I'd go in the garden either. We have ivy ground covering around our bird feeders and bird bath. Mom will not step in it this time of year because it is a fav of the reptiles. In order to get to the feeders and bath, she says she has to walk around her elbow to get to her thumb. I have no idea what she is talking about. MOL.

  28. MEOWZA!!!!!!!!! We didn't get to visit yesterday cuz there was a pic of a snake........so today we convinced mama it was safe to visit and yet another snake picture.

Our mama has a terrible phobia about snakes.....due to a very unhappy and unfortunate encounter with one when she was very young.

We love you fellas, but are hoping there won't be any more snakes!!!!! :)

  35. I hate to say it, but maybe there is a nest of snakes there. Maybe this is the mama and the others are her babies.

I don't blame you for not wanting to go into the garden without boots on. Even then, I'd be wary.
Just the thought makes me squirm.

At least trusty Flynn is on the lookout for you!
