My Vet Visit.

My itchies came back so I had to go to the vet to be stabbed on Monday. While we were there, the Beans asked to have my blood tested to make sure I am healthy. The next thing I knew the vet man picked me up and took me to another room. I did a little meow because he left the Beans behind.

Look what the nurse did to me. She stole my neck furrs! The vet man wasn't content with just stealing my furr because then he stole my blood.
The results came back on Wednesday and the good news is I don't have diabetes or kidney problems and no nasty illness. The test for my liver function was not as good as it could be though. The vet man said that may be why I get the itchies, because people with liver disease often get itchy skin. He said they could do a liver biopsy to find if there was a problem. The Beans said I seem fit and healthy and mostly eat well so they didn't really want to do that. The vet agreed so we are going on as normal and they will keep a close eye on me in case I become unwell.

We let mum post this photo she took 2 days ago. It had been misty most of the day, but when the mist parted every now and again we could see the sky was completely cloudless. The sun looked really huge and red through the mist. This photo has not been altered in any way and mum liked the look of it.

  1. Darn those Stabby Place hoomins! Always stealing stuff from us. Don't they have their own?
PS: We're sorry to hear that your liver might be misbehaving, but we know your 'rents will keep careful watch on you.

  3. We think humans loves our furs so much that they steal it every chance they get. Teri has some furs from the cats who came before in a little heart on a necklace...so we knows furs are real important to humans. Blood on the other hand, we think that's just mean! But we are glad your bloods showed you are A-OK inside! We knows you are loverly on the outside!

  6. Way cool photo, Mom! We're sorry to hear about your liver. We hope it just causes itchies and no other problems. Other beans! There's no accounting for them. They take the weirdest stuff including pee and peeps!

  7. Oh Eric what an ordeal! We are glad you are okay and think your parents are very wise to leave you liver alone at the moment. It would be a different story if you weren't well and healthy but since you are, no need for invasive procedures :-)

    Fabulous pink moon!

  12. Oh Eric, what a trauma. And then to find your liver is playing up. Our paws are crossed and we hope it can be monitored without too many changes (maybe some extra nice food would help). Ă„iti says the Feline Advisory Bureau has loads of good info sheets on cat health but we have said that your mum and dad will know about that already, we're sure. Paws crossed, and we hope your neck isn't too cold.

  13. We are glad you are generally well. And we hope that you stop being so itchy.

  14. Eric, if you are acting all right except for itching, then maybe it's best that the vets don't try to steal any more stuff from you! That is an awesome photo your human took!

  15. Eric, we are in agreement with Sparkle - vets mean well, but a biopsy seems more than most humans would want to put their kitty through if he or she seemed otherwise healthy. We hope your furs grow back quickly. The last time I had bloods stolen they did they same thing of taking me away. Mom thinks they don't WANt the humans to see them torturing us.

  17. Lovely picture! We are glad to hear nothing is seriously wrong. We think watchful waiting is best, too. No kitty likes the vet!

  18. Wow, that sounds like a rotten day! Did your vet give you anything for your liver? There are supplements like Denamarin and Marin for Cats that can improve liver function.

  19. Eric glad the results are good. Loved the fact that you gave a little meow when they took you away from the beans.
That picture of the sun is just beautiful. So pink. Great picture. Take care.

  20. Eric, we're sorry that you are itchy again. Ernie gets itchy too...usually in the spring and fall...the v-e-t thinks he has seasonal allergies. Like right now, Ernie is getting itchy again. If it gets worse, he'll be off to the v-e-t for a shot too!!

  21. Ugh, the vet. No one likes going. We hope your itchies go away and that your liver function remains within normal range. After all the tests and fussing our human did with Annie, and has done with us too, her motto is going to be "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

  22. Overall, it sounds like a pretty good report. Hopefully, the liver function is just an anomaly and nothing will come of it.

The longer I live the more I realize that everything could always be better but sometimes we just need to be grateful for what things aren't. I haven't had enough coffee yet... did that even make sense? :)

  25. Why do these v-e-t people always leave us with a little bald spot when they stab us??!!
What an amazing picture of the sun - it's still quite misty here so don't think it will clear today and we have no pink sun to brighten us up.
