Eric always liked to patrol the fields so this week we have some photos of him doing that.
He liked to get a good vantage point to have a good look around.
An added bonus was using the tree stump as a scratcher.
Sometimes it was necessary to climb a tree.
He was sure of a good view from up there.
Walking through the jungle hunting mousies.
Stopping to eat them when he caught them.
Then of course he needed a drink to wash it down.
Of course eating and drinking means only one thing!
And after the patrol it was time to relax in the long grass together.

ReplyDeleteOh wow. That's one impressive day of patrolling. Such bravery. I usually do my "patrol" sitting on the back steps. I have to be near the door in case I gets scared.

ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful photos! Those of Eric in the tree are among my all time favourites. The is something so magical about them. And he looks so handsome posing on the branches!! They fill my heart with such joy and, at the same time, such sadness because he is no longer with us. 0ne of the all time great cats, he is.

Eric was a real ManCat of the World--a Mancat's ManCat! Sort of an Ernest Hemingway of the feline world.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to see Flynn carrying on so many fine traditions XOXOXOXO
We always loved going on patrol with Eric with his pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe remember this post. All was safe under Eric's watch!
ReplyDeleteSorry about catiocam - we are having problems with the feed shutting down over night. Then we have problems with Äiti not switching it back on! It's on now but getting dark.......
I remember enjoying the photos from back then of Eric and Flynn being good buddies, roaming the countryside. I am sure you must miss him, Flynn. And I can see why tree stumps would make GREAT scratching posts.
