Friday Flashback - Playing in the Grass.

First of all, Happy Easter to all who celebrate it. This is my picture for tomorrow's Caturday Art with Athena, The Cat Goddess.

I am doing a Flashback this week, and this one comes from May 2011.
Eric and Flynn were having a good game of hide and seek in the long grass.
Eric: I'm all crouched down. Bet no-one can see me.

Oh no! Dad came creeping up and found me.

I know Flynn is here somewhere, I just have to find him.

Haha! There he is. I'm going to pounce on him!

Huh? Where did he go? I must have missed him.

Flynn: That's strange, I'm sure something just jumped over the top of me.

Eric: I wonder if I can sneak around behind him and take him by surprise.

Flynn: Have you ever had the funny feeling that you are being watched?

Caturday Art - Boys on the Hedge.

This week the art is taken from a scanned photo when Eric and Flynn were about 9 months old.

This is the original photo. They used to like to climb up through the eight feet high Leyland hedge. They would walk along it and sit and watch what was going on, but they never tried to go down the other side into the fields.

For this version I used Lunapic Devillish at 20%, then Frida at 50% and finished with Nebula at 50%. Then finished with a plain border.

This version I started with Frost at 35% and then Nebula again, but only at 30% this time. I then gave it a bevelled glass border.
The pictures were a bit rushed this week as we had been away for a few days and I didn't have anything ready.

Five Years

It is 5 years since you had to leave us, Eric.
We love and miss you as much today as we did then and that will never change.
You and your brother will always be our precious boys.

You didn't like to pose, but you should have with your handsome big old fashioned face.

We miss that lovely tummy that you always managed to keep looking so white.

We enjoyed taking you on walks around the fields so you could check out all of the strange smells.

Love you forever Eric.

For those of you who never knew Eric, you can read his tribute from 19.03.13 by clicking on his photo on the sidebar.

Caturday Art - In the Hay Barn.

This week I have 3 versions of the same photo taken of the boys in the hay barn.

This is the original and was taken in 2008 when they were 8 years old.

This version I used Lunapic starting with Edatinasol at 40% followed by Illusion also at 40%.
Then came Red Blush at 50% and finishing with Landscape at 40%  to take some of the extreme red out. I then added the wood edging but think a more classical frame would have been better.

I went back to Dreamscope to see if I had anything there. They take so long that I always forget to check.
I had 4 there but two were so awful I deleted them right away. The other 2 are below. I wish Dreamscope gave the ability to adjust the effects.

I quite like this one. I think I used Winter Solstice.

This one I think is Seaside.

Caturday Art - A Welcome Rest.

I haven't done a Caturday Art for a few weeks because when I lost everything on the computer when I had to reinstall Windows, one of the very few folders I didn't have saved to my external hard drive was the one that contained art I had ready for the next several weeks. I also had a lot of photos in the folder ready to be made into art.
I need to look through my ext. HD and sort out more photos ready for future weeks.

For this picture I started with Lunapic Sparks adjusted to 35%, then the retro vintage harsh filter, also at 35%. This was followed by Scribble at 30% and ending with 30% Landscape. I then added a bevelled border.
I always seem to add Landscape for the touch of blue. I think I made a mistake using it for this picture as it just looks like reflections on it.

This one I also used Lunapic and started with the weave filter to give it a bit of texture. Then I added the Coffee effect at 30% and then Picasso at 40% and finished with a traditional frame.

This is the original photo.
