It seems like only yesterday that you were lying on your back with your curled toes in the air.
Rolling around on the concrete enjoying the sun.
Twelve months, 365 days, and yet at other times it seems so long ago.
But truly it seems impossible that we haven't been able to cuddle you, or tickle that adorable tummy for a year.
We love you so much and always will do so, just as we do with your brother Eric.
We are grateful for all the love and companionship you have given us. Nothing can take that away.
It is unfair that so much love leads to heartbreak which never goes.
Life goes on for us but it will never be the same.
You were always there when I was on the computer. Maybe not helping, but you were there.
You always found the best sunspots even if it meant perching on my shoulders when I was trying to read the newspaper.
Unlike Eric who never really liked having his photo taken, you were always ready to pose for the camera.
You loved to be out in your fields keeping the mousie population down.
You would be kept busy now as there has been a population explosion with no ginger brothers to keep it under control.
Love you forever our darling boy.
What a beautiful tribute to an amazing mancat.
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts and purrs to you as you remember Flynn. It doesn't matter how much time passes, those holes in our hearts remain. I read somewhere, long ago, that those holes were to let the Light shine through.
ReplyDeleteHugs and peace,
Kim, Nicki and Derry
We still miss Flynn too. Purrs to you on this day of memories.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful loving and heart filled tribute to a precious boy. Both boyar and were. I truly love them. I miss them. Your description of life without our loved ones is spot on. Life does go on but no, it's never the same. XXX

Our purrs to you. We cannot believe it is a year - that year has been full of loss and grief. Flynn was such a huge part of everything, including our routine. We often think how it is now for you as you walk through the fields. We know he's up at the Bridge with Eric, and all the others, and will always look for them there. Love to you.
ReplyDeleteyes... it is unfair... and it hurts and hurts... but probably that is true love... hugs to you and a hug to your angel...

A year....time flies by but when your heart aches at losing a beloved kitty, time slows down and lets us remember every moment clearly. Flynn was so very special for you and all of us. We miss him too. We're glad he's with his brother now and Angel Sammy and so many others....but we must go on until one day we will all be together again. Sending you big hugs.....

ReplyDeleteFlynn deserved the very best and you gave that to him. I can't even imagine your sense of loss given the extent of mine and I never even met him. Thank you for sharing your boys - your posts have made my days more often than not.
ReplyDeleteOf Flynnie, we miss you so. Sometimes it seems like only yesterday you were with us and other times we cant believe you are really gone at all. Maybe because you always kept your “kitty” look, perennially the young, vibrant tooling fellow, right to the end. We never saw the encroaching years..
ReplyDeleteYou were a treasured son to your folks and and honorary son to your loving friends worldwide of which there very legions. You couldn’t be more family than if you came to each of us a a baby,
Love never dies, Flynnie. You live on and you light shines brightly in all of us. When we think of you, the old song “This Little Light of Mine” takes on new meaning. All of our love always.
oh my I can't believe it has been a year already. We sure miss that precious boy but we thank you for the memories that you share with us. We love you! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteFlynn was such a special boy - and so was Eric. Thank you for sharing your memories with us !
ReplyDeleteOh, what a beautiful tribute to Flynn! What a handsome mancat he was. Sending hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch a handsome fellow. That second last photo shows Flynn so eager and full of life. It was a pleasure to know him through your stories.
ReplyDeleteThose were very touching words in deed for a great mancat. We love the image of Flynn resting in a chair, he sure knows how to strike a pose, and I bet he is doing it still, wherever he may be, in between chasing mice that is, with Eric.
ReplyDeleteGentle purrs for two wonderful and ever entertaining guys
Erin
Very beautiful memories--it is hard how much love has to hurt when we lose them!

ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff and delinquent mom
It's true, isn't it? The more we are loved, the harder it is for the peeps who love us when it's time for... You know. But we're loved. Loved to the moon and back, over and over again. I wouldn't have it any other way. purrs
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute to Flynn.
ReplyDeleteHow could we ever forget the beauty, the cuteness, the adventures and all the love? Forever loved and forever missed.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Such a beautiful tribute indeed. This made dad think of old Orbit, not that he's ever stopped thinking about the old guy. We certainly do have quite the effect on you humans, don't we?
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed this. We sure miss both of those boys. And we know you do too. They were just the greatest. Hope you are having a good week end.
ReplyDeleteFlynn was such a special boy (as was Eric). I lost my boy Dip on May 1 a few days ago. I like to think they are all playing together along with King P. Your boys chasing mousies and my boy chasing crickets (mousies just weren't his thing lol). Thank you for sharing them with us! MargaretB and Dot
ReplyDelete(((hugs))) Somehow we missed this too. Beautiful tribute.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Sigh...I left a comment days ago, but I used the tablet and sometimes the comments don't actually post.
ReplyDeleteWe nof Flynn every day. I have a "photo" of him and Nellie that I like and it sits on my bedside table. I do believe they are enjoying the grass and the mouse hunts.
Sending you much love
Barb
Flynn, you are such a handsome angel. We bet you're shining down on your mom and dad right now.
