Remembering Flynn

It is a year since you had to leave us. How can that possibly be?
It seems like only yesterday that you were lying on your back with your curled toes in the air.
Rolling around on the concrete enjoying the sun.
Twelve months, 365 days, and yet at other times it seems so long ago.
But truly it seems impossible that we haven't been able to cuddle you, or tickle that adorable tummy for a year.
We love you so much and always will do so, just as we do with your brother Eric.
We are grateful for all the love and companionship you have given us. Nothing can take that away.
It is unfair that so much love leads to heartbreak which never goes.
Life goes on for us but it will never be the same.

You were always there when I was on the computer. Maybe not helping, but you were there.

You always found the best sunspots even if it meant perching on my shoulders when I was trying to read the newspaper.

Unlike Eric who never really liked having his photo taken, you were always ready to pose for the camera.

You loved to be out in your fields keeping the mousie population down.
You would be kept busy now as there has been a population explosion with no ginger brothers to keep it under control.
Love you forever our darling boy.

  2. Our thoughts and purrs to you as you remember Flynn. It doesn't matter how much time passes, those holes in our hearts remain. I read somewhere, long ago, that those holes were to let the Light shine through.

    Hugs and peace,

  8. Our purrs to you. We cannot believe it is a year - that year has been full of loss and grief. Flynn was such a huge part of everything, including our routine. We often think how it is now for you as you walk through the fields. We know he's up at the Bridge with Eric, and all the others, and will always look for them there. Love to you.

We miss him too. We're glad he's with his brother now and Angel Sammy and so many others....but we must go on until one day we will all be together again. Sending you big hugs.....

  21. Flynn deserved the very best and you gave that to him. I can't even imagine your sense of loss given the extent of mine and I never even met him. Thank you for sharing your boys - your posts have made my days more often than not.

  22. Of Flynnie, we miss you so. Sometimes it seems like only yesterday you were with us and other times we cant believe you are really gone at all. Maybe because you always kept your “kitty” look, perennially the young, vibrant tooling fellow, right to the end. We never saw the encroaching years..
You were a treasured son to your folks and and honorary son to your loving friends worldwide of which there very legions. You couldn’t be more family than if you came to each of us a a baby,
Love never dies, Flynnie. You live on and you light shines brightly in all of us. When we think of you, the old song “This Little Light of Mine” takes on new meaning. All of our love always.

  27. Those were very touching words in deed for a great mancat. We love the image of Flynn resting in a chair, he sure knows how to strike a pose, and I bet he is doing it still, wherever he may be, in between chasing mice that is, with Eric.
Gentle purrs for two wonderful and ever entertaining guys

  37. Flynn was such a special boy (as was Eric). I lost my boy Dip on May 1 a few days ago. I like to think they are all playing together along with King P. Your boys chasing mousies and my boy chasing crickets (mousies just weren't his thing lol). Thank you for sharing them with us! MargaretB and Dot

  39. Sigh...I left a comment days ago, but I used the tablet and sometimes the comments don't actually post.
We nof Flynn every day. I have a "photo" of him and Nellie that I like and it sits on my bedside table. I do believe they are enjoying the grass and the mouse hunts.
    Sending you much love
