Friday Flashback and Caturday Art

This week the Flashback comes from December 2011 when we were given this strange looking thing.

What the heck is this that the Beans have got for us??? Mum says it is for grooming ourselves. It has three blue brushes for rubbing against and the blue bit in the middle has ridges for rubbing your face on. The white bits have nobbly bits for rolling on. There is nip in the centre and in the blue brushes to attract us to it.

Flynn: I have had a little rub on it but I am wondering how to get the nip out.
Eric: If I want to groom myself I will use my paw thank you very much!

What are we supposed to do now? It's a bit boring isn't it.

Ahh, that's better. Why didn't you tell us it we could use it as a treats tray?

I used the last photo for my Caturday Art, and as usual used Lunapic.
I started with Landscape at 60%, then Sunshine at 30% and finished with Quirky at 35%

You can see more Caturday Art with Athena, the Cat Goddess.

I have also used the art for a puzzle. Click on the small picture to go to Jigsaw Planet to do it.

  1. Great post. AT least it is a hit for a treats tray. You just never know when something is going to be a hit. Have a great Friday.

  3. We would agree that a treat tray is the best thing to call it ;)
Mum will have fun doing that puzzle.

  5. Hmm....I think that would have confused me too although the addition of treats would make me forget my confusion and EAT! Great photos of the Angels checking out the toy AND a wonderful puzzle which Mom will tackle later......HAPPY FRIDAY......

  7. That's a pretty involved treat tray! But as long as the treats keep coming...!

  8. Treats solve all uncertainty! Though we bet they got at the Nip eventually too.

  9. Yes, some of those gadgets just don't appeal to cats. Cats don't mind thinking things through, but why be complicated when you don't have to be?

  10. OMCs that is some contraption with multiple uses.
I used to have a cat-a-comb that mounted on the corner of the wall. I would go by and rub my face all over it.
Hugs all around madi and mom

  11. I would've expected you boys to scent the new contraption to no end! It's one thing to have intruders outside ... but you can never be too careful inside! ;)

  12. Those gadgets really appeal to our beans more than us. Even though they don’t find favor with us, we have to appreciate our beans are thinking of us. We have this bristled arch kind of thing that we use to scratch our backs and faces. We enjoy that.
We love today’s artwork. The watercolor quality is very beautiful and the boys look almost 3D. It’s one of our favourite looks.

  14. That looked quite interesting, Angels Eric and Flynn, but your right Eric, what else do we need when we have our own paw and tongue...except of the treats of course :D Great flash back and beautiful Landscape effect for the artworks :) Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend :) <3

  16. That is a very strange looking contraption. We've never seen anything like it previously. Looks like using it as a treats tray was the best plan. Mommy did two of your puzzles last week, and will put this one in the group to do. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer Dear Jackie, I pray for you everyday, but will be adding extra that you get a great report on Monday. Hugs, Janet

  18. Hooray for treat trays! I don't go for those kind of toys either.

  19. Boys, I would be flumbuzzled with that toy/treat tray. Mom is going to have to give away a new scratcher she got me that has some marbles in the top and a ball to catch if I can, inside the puzzle area. I don't like it so much that I won't even try. She knows two cat families who may like it.

  25. Where's the tweats was my first thought. I go to my meowmy for brushing and chin scwatches. Love the art!

  26. The boys always had so much fun together!

  27. That looks like a good idea for getting scratches and with the food it is looking even better!

  28. That sounds exciting, but would be better with a mouse somewhere amidst the brushes. The nip idea sounds great, does it dispense it too?

  29. haha We like Erin's suggestion of having a mouse amid the brushes. That would perk the game up some.
