This week the flashback is again from September 2006 and has also been left in the original Catspeak.
It is called: How to Scare your Mum!
I've been hunting again an just look what I got. I cawt me a snake!
I had a good chew on it an I fink it's dead so now I'm going to play wiv it.
Spoilsport. Mum took it away furrom me an put it unner the plantpot so dad cud see if it wuz a poison viper. That wuz after she screeched at me an told me too drop it. Drop it woman??? Do yoo know how long it took to catch it?
Eric knows it's theer an he's gonna gard it an make shoor it duzn't ex-cape.
Her's a pichur of it. It wuz neerly dead furrom me putting the bitey on it. Mum got a 14 pound sledgehammer an hit it on the head to make shoor. Dad sed the sledgehammer wuz a bit ecks-sess-iff. He finks it wuz a part groan grass snake, an theer not poy-zee-nuss so it wuz ok, but I had to be shut indoors an watched just in case I got yakky. I knew it wuz a armless snake cuz yoo can't see enny arms on it.
I am taking part in the Caturday Art with Athena, The Cat Goddess.
For Eric I started with Scribble at 55% followed by Psychedelic also at 55%
For Flynn I also started with Scribble but at 60% and followed with Flow at 50%

That was quite the hunt but it would scare our Mom too! Your Christmas Card is so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteSnakes are very scary....yes they are! Lovely Christmas Card!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just BEAUTIFU: as is your header!!! Our Angel Thunder used to find snakes in the yard all the time. He would pick them up in his mouth and toss them up in the air - used to totally freak out Mom:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
A sledge hammer! Yes, maybe a wee bit excessive...
ReplyDeletemission completed our mama ran scared away... if you see her, please send her back till lunchtime ;O))))
ReplyDeleteA sledgehammer....??? :).
ReplyDeleteGrass snakes can grow to a maximum length of around 180cm, making it our largest native terrestrial reptiles. However they rarely reach this maximum size...
Grass snakes do however regularly exceed lengths of one metre, with the females being larger than males!
What fond memories I would had run from that snake heheh!
ReplyDeletethis bit cracked me up
Drop it woman??? Do yoo know how long it took to catch it? LOLOL
I always like the artistic versions too and I like your header
Have a tanfastical weekend :-)
Oh what a fun memory - well fun for the boys and not so much for Mom and her sledgehammer! That's such a funny story - those boys were the BEST of hunters for sure.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy and Mom too
It looks like these boys were fearless at times! It always seems like they were so blessed to experience full lives of love and adventure.
ReplyDeleteWell done you brave boys you were the best perimeter guards in the world. Snakes make my skin crawl...
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Whoa! You were a mighty hunter indeed. This biped is a bit freaked out about your mum smashing the snake with a sledgehammer, but that probably was the most merciful thing to do at that point.
ReplyDeleteShudder.
Thank you for the beautiful Christmas card. Most appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYikes on that snake. I don't care for snakes either. They scare me to pieces.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥
Snake!!! Yikes! I would have freaked out... Love the art!!
ReplyDeleteEek! I don't know what I would do if my cats caught a snake - poisonous or not! Even small lizards freak me out.

Those are the good snakes, we leave them alone. We also used to keep some as pets, so we are odd.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas!
Aww yes those pesky snakes. I've had a few dropped on my drop step. I'd rather now partake of that! Well glad the boys took riddance of it! Lovely artwork of those two precious Angels.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe my human felt bad for the snake? She loves them. She's kind of nutty like that.
ReplyDeleteI would have SCREAMED bloody murder if I had seen that in person! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe don't think the sledgehammer is at all excessive!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
That was a good catch. Too bad humans are such spoil sports and wouldn’t let you have it.
ReplyDeleteSnakes are definitely scary and not something we would wish to be brought into the house dead or alive!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love these! Thanks for sharing! :D Deborah
ReplyDeleteYou were an amazing hunter Flynn. I'll bet you could protect me if I needed protecting.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. You saved your family.
ReplyDeleteScary snake! My mum would scream if she saw one.
ReplyDeleteThat was furry brave of you!
ReplyDeleteOur Human would purrobably faint if she saw a snake (mol).
I don't blame your mom one bit for freaking out!
ReplyDeleteNice work on the snake, and the art's awesome as always. Wonderful flashback.
ReplyDeleteThe boys were brave. We don't play with snakies here. TBT found one was poisonus.
ReplyDeleteWe're pretty sure that would scare our Mumm too!
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork, Mum Jackie. And we love your e-card for the holidays! XO
Boys, you just got my mom to laughing a lot here! And she and I are both impressed with your dedding skills! My goodness! I needed you here a few days ago. You would have been kept just as busy as you were there. XXX
ReplyDeleteOur mom isn't particularly scared of snakes but she would have had a heart attack if any of us had caught one!
ReplyDeleteOMC that... thing looks Yikes! You're very brave to catch it, sweet angel and I think your mom was too..*gulp* Maybe she can get herself a role in the movie with the sledgehammer...MOL...Beautiful artwork! Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteThat was a great catch, Flynn ! Zorro caught a snake one day, and Momo was super happy : he was screaming his joy at the top of his lungs, MOL ! But he used a shovel after that, like your mom with the hammer... Purrs
ReplyDeleteYou really caught a fine snake Flynn. We hope we get them next summer when we have our cat fence done. Whee.
ReplyDeletePS
Mom was spot on with guessing our new kittahs they are indeed Beswick figures from The Tales of Beatrix Potter.
They were quite the hunters. That is a big snake. I would have ran and screamed my head off even if it was dead. Thank you for the puzzles. XO
ReplyDeletewhat a brave fierce hunter! Very impressive gift for mom (even if she didn't appreciate it!)
ReplyDeleteThese Moms! What is their problem? They get all squeal-y and make a big fuss over nothing! Looks like the perfect cat toy to us!
ReplyDeleteEek! Snakes are creepy. Love the art effects though.
