Friday Flashback and Caturday Art

This week the flashback is a bit different. There is a lovely lady called Jean who comments every week as "In Lucy's Memory" On August 5th 2003 She lost her Momma Kitty and three days later she adopted Lucy. She asked if I could do a post from August 5th or 8th in memory of her two beloved cats.

Jean, this is for you, and thank you so much for the lovely comments every week.

Vishus Deer Alert!

When the Beans were on their Holly Days they saw this man who wuzn't looking what wuz going on, and a vishus deer crept up behind him. He wuz in grate danjer, but he wuz saved cuz the Beans brought his furrs home wiv them furr a bed furr us.

We don't know what to fink about it. I Eric gave it a sniff to make shore the vishus deer wuzn't still inside.
Then Flynn came out to help me make shore it wuz safe.

Flynn wuz gitting kwite excitid wiv it and started digging his claws in it.

Then mum put it on the Beans bed and he had a chew at it.

And anuvver chew.
Then mum put it on our sofa where we sleep and Flynn went and had anuvver chew on it to make sure it was dedded. I wuz keeping well away furrom it cuz I don't trust it.
What do yoo all fink,is it safe or do we need some of Rocky and Mao's VDR?

  2. Ha! Flynn may have thought it was a new toy - a big toy! But Eric was smart and let Flynn see if it was all right, first.

  10. Anything with real animal fur here gets torn to shreds. I suspect they never slept upon this.

  15. What a terrific story. When my cats used to go outside, they would run into vishus deer a lot and I had to keep my back door open for them so they could escape. Nell is an indoor cat, so luckily she does not run into any at all.

  18. We wondered about the vishus deer rug too. We send that lady purrayers as she remembers her two kitties. We always enjoy seeing your flashbacks of the boys !

  19. When they are flat, vishus deer are dedded than a coffin nail. The boys figured that out eventually, i am sure.

  20. Brrrr! I wouldn't trust it either. Flynn was always brave.

  21. Wow, its a good thing I didn't put out the sheepskin I have...it came from a sweet little sheep in Australia...cause I think with too many biteys, well, you know!! That's a pretty big deer you go to have in your house...good thing the vishus part was removed.

  22. Gosh, we need a LOT of VDR around here! And I could have used the biys to make sure any furs are dedded here as well! Ooops. Mom's store bought furs are not real! She buys or used to buy, look alike stuffs!

  23. It was so kind of you to dedicate this post to your bereaved friend. As far as Eric and Flynn are concerned, they seem delighted with the no-longer-vishus deer. I imagine it sparked their hunting instincts, and was pretty darn comfy at the same time.

  25. We send Jean much love and purrayers!
We LOVE this post! And how you guys handled your deer. And the art is terrific! We can't wait to do the puzzle.
Right now, we would love to get rid of the vischious deer in our village! They figured out they could jump the fence on the Road to Mr E's house and ate our garden! THey ate our Sunflowers and all of the flowers Mom planted in the front bed. We have way too many this year! We can't wait to do the puzzle! Keep being AWESOME! Marv and Mom

  30. MOL nothing like a bit of a fluffy rug to make a bed in! We were given some alpaca rugs years ago and a reindeer one too, but they reside in a cupboard because of Smooch and his Phantom Widdler alter ego! MOL

  31. WOW.....that animal skin looks SOOOOOO soft!! I bet it took a while for you to "accept" it into the family though didn't it boys!
