Friday Flashback and Caturday Art

This flashback comes from October 2007

One side of our garden has a high hedge but the other side had an ordinary hedge which we could jump over. That meant mum had to keep stopping what she was doing to make sure we hadn't wandered off, or worse still, we had to stay indoors until she took us for a walk. Dad decided to take the hedge down and build the Purrizen Fence. Now we can stay in the garden all day and mum calls us in when she goes to bed.

THE PURRIZEN FENCE

Yoo mite be wondering where the nice hedge that has lots of mousies living in it has gone. Well dad got a big masheen and it ate it. Cuz there wuz nuffin there after the masheen eatid it, dad had to build a fence to keep us in. It's like a purrizzin.

What's this ladder doing here?

I better go up and haf a look and see what's out the uvver side

Hmmphhh nuffin diffrunt than yooshull, mite as well go back down.

Well if yoo had a look, I'm going to haf a look too.

Can't see ennyfing at all.

That's better, now I can see.Dad sed he built this big fence so we can stay in the garden all day if we want, and mum won't haf to keep watching us all the time. It's ok cuz she's still going to take us furr walks around the feelds too.

Did yoo see that skeery pikchur yesterday? There is a ghost living in our fence. Mum sez it is watching us to make sure we are good boys. Yoo bet we are going to be good!!

  3. II bet mouse hunting was easier in the field than that dense hedge...and that ladder sure made for a sky high perch!

  5. Your dad built an amazing fence, so high! You both certainly were excellent ladder climbers!! We suspect that our angel Nicki might have jumped down the other side if he were there, wild cat that he was.

  9. Our Power has been out all morning: According to power company "outage due to an object falling on lines" aka somebody ran into a tree or pole knocking out power
OMCs look at your grand balance up and down the ladder.
I can hardly do it with 2 legs and you have 4

  11. The gilded cage is still a cage, huh Angel Boys?
The Hubby's father was a carpenter, and he put in miles of knotty pine wood.
That wood has faces and eyes!

  13. This is a fun flashback. What a nice high strong-looking fence. And with its own resident scary face to keep you boys inside your purrizzin! Mom's catwork did the trick with making the face even more scary. Hope Mom and Dad are doing well. Until next time...Jean

  15. Great flashback. I would have been nervous of a kitty climbing that ladder. They sure were brave boys. That looks like a wolf face in the fence- creepy. Thank you for the puzzle. XO

  18. I'd be sorry to see the hedge go, but what a fence went up in its place! That provided a real spot for the boys to play in all day. And that ghost is kind of scary; I saw his eyes as soon as I looked at the picture!

  19. Great used of your art filter to make the ghost stand out even more. Of course I saw it right away when I looked at the closeup of the fence, but enhanced it is truly amazing.

It was a great idea to have a fence instead of just a hedge to keep the boys in. Less worry for Mom! And the pictures of them going up and down the ladder is PURRiceless!

  20. Such talent, climbing that ladder like that! The purrison fence is great, but that face is scary!!!

  21. OMC! As if having a fence isn't bad enough, but it has eyes that watch you wherever you go!!!

  22. WoW! That is a totally super tall fence! We have pretty high fences around here to keep the evil deer out but they are NOT as tall as yours. Mom is loving the new floor, her and Alex have their bedrooms and hallway left to finish, and she will be furry happy when the painting is finished too...It takes far too many coats to cover up some colours (and to get rid of the cigarette smoke).

  23. That was sure some good ladder climbing! We only ladder inside, here.

  27. At our house Daddy cannot leave a ladder unattended because my brofur Wabbit will climb it. He once tried to climb a 20 foots ladder in our living room while Daddy was painting the ceiling. Momma nearly had heart failure. So sad.
