Christmas Cards.
As I said previously, because of the many Royal Mail strikes leading up to Christmas most of our snail mail cards have been slow arriving and taking as long as 30 days to get here. We have had quite a few after New Year with the occasional one still arriving. I have scanned them all and added them to my Christmas Day post. Blogger didn't want to put them with the other snail mail cards, so they are below the email cards. Hopefully if you sent a card you will see it there now. Thank you for all of them.
The Friday Flashback this week comes from May 2009 and is called:
Who Stole the Grass?
We went for our walk today and as soon as we got in the field we could see something had happened.
Flynn: Eric the grass isn't right. It's not long any more. How can we bounce around in it?
Eric: I don't know. Something strange has happened to it. I'm following a trail to see if I can find the long grass.
Eric: Nope, no sign of it.
Flynn: Well, we may as well lie down here for a while until we can work out what happened.
Eric: Yup, something's going on. I wonder if dad knows anything about it.
We'll let you know when we find out where our grass went.

Guess the grass needed to be shorn, Angel kitties!
ReplyDeleteOff to puzzle...thanks.
They did look seriously concerned about the grass theft! That art is sure pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe loved the mystery of the falling grass back then and now again. We don't have fields of it, but we notice some areas that do "just fall over" when it gets cold. MOL! TBT rakes them up and adds them to the compost bin so they can be with theor friends over Winter.
ReplyDeleteI recall that happening more than once, and the boys never did find their grass - though more of it came back eventually.
ReplyDeleteWell those two handsome ginger cats certainly look like they had a mystery going on there. Then what a shame that your mail service would go on strike at a time like Christmas. I guess they just wanted everybody to know how important they really are. It would have been more generous if they would have delivered mail for Christmas and then going on strike.
ReplyDeleteOur mail service is just a mess, but we didn't even have a strike, it is just not good. Now we have had two big snowstorms in the past two weeks and things are even worse!
ReplyDeleteHow very dare he cut the grass lol :-)
ReplyDeleteAww! their memories are always so cute
The art LQQKS quite effective too
Have a mowedlawntastic weekend 👍
Loving todays adventure, Basil loved it when the field next door was cut; he could see the rabbits better!!! MOL
ReplyDeleteCute art too! We are off to puzzle very slowly!
Did the boys ever find out where the grass went? :-)
ReplyDeleteWe love the artwork, as always!
Another fun flashback with great photos! I hope the boys found the grass.
ReplyDeleteMOL WHO STOLE THE GRASS..I love it
ReplyDeleteOnce Marlu gave her dad a t shirt for father's day it read
"I fought the grass and the grass won"!!
Hugs Cecilia
Darling story and sweet cats!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the grass wasn't long eny more, i'm sure it grew back, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining Feline Friday!
What a great adventure and beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteThey look bewildered over the missing grass they like to play and hunt in.
ReplyDeleteBoys, I see you had your detective hats on - did you ever find out where the long grasses went? Mom's catwork is pretty! Hope Mom and Dad are doing well. Until next time...Jean
ReplyDeleteWhat a mystery!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the boys in the grass. Thank you for the puzzle. XO
ReplyDeleteThat grass does that here, too...We wonder if that noisy machine has anything to do with it...Cute pics of you two trying to figure it all out!

What a great memory, and we love how the artwork of it turned out. Maybe Dad Ivor was gonna use all that grass for hay? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLovely art!
ReplyDeleteHope the boys found some more long grass:)
ReplyDeleteOur mail service is not on strike, but it seems like our mail is very slow in arriving, and when it does, it might be someone else's mail:(
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Hmmm. That would have had Us puzzled too - but it made for some great photos of the boys. Did they effur solve the mystery?
ReplyDeleteWhat did your Dad say, boys?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Eric and Flynn found the grass OTB? We LOVE the art and we LOVED the puzzle! Keep on being awesome! Purrs Marv
