In Memory of Eric 2000-2013

 It seems impossible but it is 10 years today that we had to say our goodbyes to Eric. There is never a day that we don't think of you and talk to you. Always loved and forever missed.

Friday Flashback and in Memory of Eric.

It is nine years tomorrow that Eric had to leave us so this post is in his memory.

Repairs.
What has happened??? Our cat tree has fallen over and it is in bits!

This needs checking out. This hole should be on the side, not the top.

Yikes! The top platform is missing too.
Oh it's okay. Dad just told me it was getting wobbly so he was beefing it up before it collapsed.
I've heard that Flynn is spreading rumours that it is my weight that made it wobble. Don't believe him. It's not true.

        Eric 8th April 2000 - 19th March 2013.

Another year has passed and it is now six years since you had to leave us.
Nothing changes, we miss you as much today as we ever did and we always will do.

You loved your walks around the fields stopping to check everything on the way.

Then coming back to sit outside just enjoying the sun and fresh air.
We will never forget you and your brother, Flynn.
We hope you are romping happily together at the Bridge with all those friends who have joined you there.
Love you forever, darling boy.

Of course I can't leave Flynn out, so here is a one photo post of his from a couple of days later.

Mum was refilling my nippy toys and the tub fell off the cat tree. Score!!!

I used the last photo of Eric and started with Sadness at 25%, followed by Beauty at 40% and finished with Red Blush at 35%.
I did a 2nd picture with the Deep Dream Generator, and this one was using "A Winter's Tale."

It is 3 years ago today that you had to leave us, it doesn't seem possible.
The pain of loss never goes, but we learn to live with it.

We love you and miss you always our darling boy.

Sunday Selfies Special

This week I have a special Sunday Selfies. When mum was looking for photos for our blogoversary she found some selfies that Eric had taken. They are a bit blurry because he didn't really know about selfies back then, but we thought it would be nice to show them. Maybe he was one of the first selfie takers!

I don't think he realised you have to open your eyes...

or look at the camera.

He seemed to find it tiring too.

Blurry, but he did get a photo of his nose freckles.

We have been having a lot of internet problems lately. We lost connection Thursday evening and didn't get it back until midday Saturday. It is still very slow and intermittent, so if we suddenly disappear, don't worry. We will visit as much as we can but it is doubtful we will be able to catch up completely. Luckily mum had scheduled some of my posts ahead. It is my dad's birthday tomorrow so be sure to come and see his lovely present.

Eric's Day Flashback.

This flashback comes from July 2007 and was originally a....

Mancat Monday.
Bet you didn't know I was in here. I've just been having a nice nap in the sun in the back of the trailer.

Now I'm awake I'd better check everything is all right.First I'll look out of this end which means I am looking towards the stables. Yup everything seems ok down there.

Now I'll look out of this side. I can nearly see in the window, but I don't think anyone is indoors.

Now I'd better go up the other end and check everything is ok in the tractor. Sometimes when the tractor door is open I go inside and have a nap.

For my last check I need to be a bit higher so I have to get up on the tractor wing. This is higher up than the top of dad's head if he was stood here, so I can get a really good view of everything from up here. Well I'm happy to say everything looks okay.

Hmphhh. I've been busy doing all this work and what does Flynn do? Yup you got it, he's in the back of the trailer playing with a bit of stone or something. It's a big responsibility being a mancat, and it's hard work when you don't get any help from your brother.

It was a year ago today you had to leave us Eric. They have been twelve of the hardest months we have known. It seems like only yesterday that you were here with your gentle loving nature, yet at the same time it seems so long ago.

We love and miss you so much and always will, our precious boy.
