Not Feeling so Good.
Ann made this lovely graphic for me, and I told my mum that we need to make an update on my health.
I had been doing so well lately and put on quite a bit of weight. The last couple of weeks I have had loose poops but we know I get them now and again because of my hyperthyroidism.
I haven't been eating very much the last few days and Friday my loose poops turned into the squirts. I am very lethargic as well.
Mum rang the vet and he said to start me on some antibiotics she had left. They are oxytetracycline and one of the few medications I can tolerate. He said if I was no better in the morning to take me to see him, so Saturday morning I got stuffed into my PTU and whisked off to see him.
He checked my BP which was fine and also listened to my heart which also sounded okay. I get checked regularly anyway because I am not on conventional treatment for my hyperthyroidism. I take a low dose of Prednisalone which stops my T4 from going to high.
Mum and dad took me for a very short walk before we went because they know I like to pee outdoors and caught a sample to take with them.
Most readings were okay but the blood reading was off the scale and also the white blood cell reading was very high. There has been a slight trace of blood in my urine ever since I first became ill but the test paper went darker than the highest reading. My temperature is normal
My vet said it seems like a UTI so I have to keep on the Oxycare for at least 5 days. I had a B12 injection as well.
I only ate 3/4 of a tin of food yesterday and only 1/4 so far today. He said if I wasn't improved this morning to withhold my prednisalone for 3 days and on the second day I will have an injection of a NSAID and if there is a marked improvement that will suggest that pain is making me not want to eat. My mouth and teeth have been looked at and there is a small amount of tartar but nothing to cause problems.
My mum asked about suddenly stopping the pred and he said the dose I am on is so low (1 mg twice a day) that it wouldn't hurt me.
I came back from the brink twice before and mum and dad say they will do everything they can to help me again.
If you can give me some purrs I know that will help me to.

Purrs Desperately Needed. Updated
UPDATE:
We have just got home and have been given hope for Flynn. The vet thinks it is a severe reaction to the thyroid tablets and he is to come off his thyroid meds for a week. He is having Zantac injected every 12 hours to try and stop the diarrhoea which has been ongoing for 3 months now despite various treatments. Also he hasn't eaten for 2 days, and very little for 2 days before that. The Mirtazapine no longer works to encourage the appetite. He MUST start eating by tomorrow morning as he is running an increased risk of getting fatty liver disease. The Zantac may make him feel more like eating. If this works he will be tried on a different thyroid pill at a later date.
He appears to be in discomfort rather than pain and looks for his food but then walks away. At this moment he has 3 different flavours of wet food down, cooked fish and kibble and nothing encourages him to eat it.
Please keep our boy in your thoughts.
Flynn is going to the vet this morning. He is very ill. Please purr and pray for him that we can bring him home again.

Please Purr for Me.
Please can you send me some purrs.
I have been on a 10 day course of antibiotics for the blood in my urine but had to stop them early because they were making me feel so bad. I had stopped eating too and when I did eat a little bit yesterday I yakked it back up.
Mum and dad are very worried about me and took me back to the vet today (Friday). My urine was tested again which mum had caught yesterday, and I still have blood in it. I have been given a long acting antibiotic which shouldn't give me the squirts like the tablets did. I also had an anti nausea injection so I will feel more like eating. I have got appetite stimulant pills too which I have one every 48 hours. They may be working already because I have been eating little and often and had 3 of the mini size sachets which is about 5 ounces in total. I have lost more weight and am getting very bony.
Mum and dad were so pleased when the thyroid tablets got my numbers down where they should be, and now this happens, so purrs will be very welcome.
