Mancat Monday

Dad lent some straw to his friend for a couple of days and it went up to the farm where I was born.

There are lots of kitties there and I could smell they had been touching MY straw.

I had to get up close and personal with it.

Hmmm this doesn't smell right at all.

Dad is very lucky that mum lifted me down before I peed on it. Don't go doing that again dad.

In The Hay Barn.

The sun was shining and we were out for a walk with mum. Suddenly it started to hail so mum told us to shelter in the hay barn.

Eric: I think I want to get up higher. Mum says I look like a Cyclops with my one very bright laser shining.

You will have to be quicker than that mum if you want to get a shot of me jumping up.

I think I may have a nap up here.

Or I may go higher still.

Flynn: Well I am not coming up because you will only change your mind and come back down again.

Eric:  No I won't, I am nice and comfy here.

Flynn:  See, I told you so!

Then the hail stopped so we went back out. I had all bits of straw in my fur, and mum had to brush it off with her hand because it was tickling me.

On Guard.

Dad keeps the straw for the horses beds in a shed behind our garden hedge. In the winter the mousies and sometimes ratsies try to get in to eat any corn left in the straw. When they do that, they chew through the cords that hold the straw bales together, then when dad tries to lift them up, they break. That makes him say words on the Bad Werd List.

We help him by sitting on the straw bales and keeping a lookout for ratsies and mousies.

You have to sniff the straw to see if they have been around lately.

To make sure we don't miss them, we take it in turns with one of us looking up and the other looking down. We think dad is very glad of our help.
