We were terribly saddened today when we saw our good friend Fat Eric had gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Some of you may already know that if it wasn't for Eric and his mum Kate, we wouldn't be blogging today. Our mum had recently come out of hospital after badly breaking her leg and was not allowed to do anything. She was bored! She spent her time reading and using the computer and then she decided to google 'Ginger Cats' and discovered Fat Eric's blog. She knew that it was quite a coincidence for there to be two big ginger and white cats both called Eric and decided to email his mum, and Eric posted about it here. Eric and his mum tried to persuade our mum to start our own blog which eventually we did and he introduced us here.
This is the first photo Eric posted of himself and it was the start of all the lovely floofy tummy pics we loved to see.
Eric also had a sister called Hattie who sadly went to the Rainbow Bridge before he started blogging. Eric, we know it will be a happy reunion with your sister.
Thank you so much for introducing us to the world of blogging cats, and in doing so, you have changed our lives forever as we have made so many wonderful friends.
Fat Eric, we love you and miss you and you will never be forgotten.

This is such a lovely tribute to your dear friend. We are sad to see he has run off to The Bridge as well. (((HUGS))) to you all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to such a good friend! We can understand the special bond you had. In 2008 he and his mum and us exchanged home made Valentine's Day cards with each other as we got picked to be card buddies in a group our mums belong to on Facebook. We will always treasure his card!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to Fat Eric - we know you will miss him very much.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely tribute to Fat Eric. It is very sad he got so sick and had to go to the Rainbow Bridge while his Mum was away. We didn't really know him, though we have heard of him. How nice that he was the reason your blog started. So in a way, he will live on through your blogging.
ReplyDeleteSo sad news. All my purrs and prayers for Fat Eric and his family.

ReplyDeleteWe know Big E is smiling ... after reading that and being loved so much by so many we know he is one happy cat.
On the other paw...we here on this earthly plane will miss Eric like crazy. He was one of the first bloggers we followed and we were there from the inception of his blog. A lot of lurking and finally posting.
So many of our long time furfriends are leaving us for the Bridge and it makes us so sad. But losing Eric is like losing a little bit of ourselves Our hearts go out to his Mom Kate and his Daddy.
But you're right, there must have been one great reunion when Eric saw Hattie!
