Friday Flashback and Caturday Art.

I try to have my flashbacks going from old to new and have been using the old original blog. I am trying to use slightly newer posts (2008) from this blog but it scrolls back to 2011 then flies back to the latest posts. I have given up and will just go back as far as I can. This one is from June 2012 and is called:

Walking with Dad.

The rain stopped for a while so the Beans asked if we wanted to go for a walk. Of course we did so we let dad lead the way.

Come on dad, why have you stopped?

He said it was starting to rain again and did we want to go back.

Eric: I thought about it.

Flynn: I had a quick bath.......

and then we were ready.

It wasn't a very long walk but it was better than nothing.

Eric: What do you mean, it's too wet for a BBQ?

Boys, I always say "I love it!" and I always mean it. You were fortunate boys to have such a loving mom and dad! But I know you know that.
I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated and liked the card and comment that you sent me on the passing of my son. Hearing from dear friends (I don’t have to be next door to consider you that. You are a dear friend) means so much to me. Your kindness made a difference.

Love and hugs to you.

You were brave to venture out in the wet conditions! "Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous [couriers] mancats from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." :-)

Thanks for the memory!

Some days, you have to get out and about when you can... And any memory of the boys is enjoyable to see.

Any walk is better than none on a rainy day. As to the BBQ, looks like you should go ahead as you have the perfect spot to be warm dray and well fed. 🙂

Too bad it rained but a short walk outside is better than no walk outside, and it was nice to clean your fur off when you got inside I bet.

Enjoy these flashbacks so much. And how thoughtful of Dad to consider the boys' opinion re: should we walk on in the rain or head for shelter? Yes, a barbeque sure sounds good, rain or no rain. Mom's catwork as always is very nice. Hope Mom and Dad are doing well. Until next time...Jean

Rain preventing a BBQ?? No way, just roll the grill into the barn or shed for shelter...our auntie puts hers in the open garage...

Us pups don't care much for rainy day walks.

Bob's fave time to BBQ is in the rain. I don't think I'd like to get rained on.

Mom is mean she makes Grandpa smoke stuff rain or shine. At least the smoker is under his shed. You just have to walk in the rain to get to it. Actually so far this year the rain has cooperated and let him get through smoking stuff before it started falling from the sky. We had a very rainy summer for us.

Thanks for the puzzle. That was fun and I like the picture. I laughed out loud at the "quick bath". So typical of cats! :D

We agree with Eric that it's never too rainy for a BBQ!

The entire post is so heartwarming. It's a regular purrade! Great choice for your art. If it was for sale in a picture store, it would be a favourite, I'm sure.

Once again, it is suitable for framing.
