Friday Flashback and Caturday Art.

 The Visitor.

Sorry Tabbies, you had better give this one a miss.

Flynn: Hey what are you doing here? This is my sunbathing spot.

You're supposed to be afraid of me, why aren't you flying away?

You do realise I could have you for my supper don't you.

Hmphh, if you are going to ignore me, I will turn my back on you too.

Oh good, mum's fattening him up for us.

Eric: If I watch him from behind this wire mesh he won't be able to see me.

He has come closer, do I dare pounce with mum watching me?

Huh! The cheek of it. He is drinking our rain water now.

Note from mum:
We had heavy rain and very strong wind the night before these photos were taken. The pigeon is a ringed homing pigeon and was probably exhausted from the bad weather. He was looking very sorry for himself and let me catch him. His ring had this year's date on it so this is probably his first year of racing. The boys were very interested but couldn't understand why he wouldn't fly which is most likely what saved him as there is no point in catching something that just sits and looks at you. He is now looking much better and flying as soon as I or Eric and Flynn approach and should very soon fly back to his own loft.

  1. Dearest Jackie & Ivor,
Those are incredible images of Eric and Flynn and a tired pigeon!
Oh, all our memories... it is so soothing to go back to them and relive the special moments.
Big hugs to you and hope all is well 💞

  3. It was grand of your Angel Boys to leave that bird alone.
You've made lovely art of the photos, and now I'm off to puzzle...thank you.

  4. Those are some great photos of the boys and the bird. Amazing that the pigeon didn't move and the kitties didn't pounce. Love the artwork too.

  5. What a fun memory, the exhausted pigeon. I hope he finally got home safely.

The boys were very well behaved around him.

Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

  6. I'm glad the boys didn't pounce on him. As a homing pigeon, he may not have had his instincts as sharp as wild pigeons. Let's hope he made it home safely. (And I like how Flynn didn't even try anything with him; hmphh, indeed.)

  7. Well...I 'never did'...HeHe! Never seen the
    like of it...That's amazing...!
Fudge, who lives a couple of doors away
from me, came down the path dragging,
a pigeon, he'd caught and killed, oh! good
l said, Sundays dinner, we'll share it, as we
often did, and l'm partial to pigeon, would
never kill one, but if already deceased, why
    waste it...!
He jumped up onto my brick BBQ and went
off home, dragging this bird with him...I learned
later that his Mum, threw it away...silly lady...! :(

    Great photos, lovely post.....Bless!xx

  8. How confusing! A bird that just sits there is not much of a challenge is it.....however, we are happy how the story ended - the tired bird had a drink and a rest and went on his way. Love the art filters on the photos of the boys - gorgeous (the filters and the boys too!). Sending hugs............

  9. It was amazing that your boys found this homing pigeon. And that he lived to fatten up and fly away. I'm sure they would have liked for him to come back on a regular basis. Great pictures of all

    1. Wow, the pics are amazing! What a sight, the poor pigeon and Flynn turning his back to him in the end. I'm not sure my angel Nicki would have been that considerate, or bored. Lol. I'm glad he finally made his way home, though.

I hope things are going a little better for you now, Jackie. Sending lots of healing energy. 🙏❤️

  15. Nice flashback. We had one that was tagged land in our yard once. We tossed it some birdseed and it went off. Thank you for the puzzles. XO

  17. that is such a cool experience to have a bird land and take a break and refuse to run from the cats!

  18. I'm glad there was a happy ending and the pigeon rested, ate and flew off. The boys must have sensed "something" and therefore left him alone. Mom's catwork is really nice. Hope Mom and Dad are doing as well as can be . I think of you often and send good thoughts. Until next time...Jean

  26. Ivor had a Birthday?? Well, then: Happy Belated Birthday Greetings to you, Ivor!! 🎂🎈
That was a cool flashback of the homing pigeon. Wonder if his master missed him. That pigeon must be eternally grateful for the bed and breakfast and that the kitties were not trying to catch him. Good boys they were!

Hope you're not too encumbered by your chemo this week...sending prayers 🙏 and many hugs🥰 along with well wishes.❤️

  27. We used to have a pigeon that would come to visit every spring and roost on our outside storage closet. It drove Bear NUTS cooing. At least when it's mate showed up, peace was restored (though, by that point, Bear was addicted to bird tv). We did a post about it (not a very good one in terms of pictures ... but you can search for "The Fred Files.")

  28. Hi Jackie, What a marvelous post! I only had one picture before with the pigeon. I'm glad he could tell he wasn't being threatened. And I'm sorry for mis-identifying Eric again. I tend to go on my perception of their size, but wrong again. I'm also sorry to hear you had a rough time with the chemo last time. However, if you are making some good progress it must be gratifying.
I love, love , love your art with the pigeon. It rightly captures an unusual, and very amewsing, moment in time. Hugs and healing thoughts, Wendy & Dani.🥰😻
