Another Day with Friends.

Do you remember that I told you that Carol and Barrie came to stay with me and my mum and dad for a few days? I was going to post more the next week but then I had a big setback with my health. I am feeling much better now, and so here is the next post at last.

I often take my mum and my dad for a short walk and I invited Carol and Barrie to come along as well.

I told them all that they could go out again for the day as long as they played with me first, which they did.

Their second day out was Dartmoor and the surrounding area.

The first stop was Tavistock and they walked along the river by the weir.

Mum says it is very pretty there and nice and peaceful.

You meet some strange people there like the three wise monkeys!

After that they went to the Farmyard Cafe at Wotter and had an all day breakfast.

Then it was on to Burrator reservoir.

This reservoir supplies drinking water to Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

On top of the dam.

From Burrator they headed off to Buckfastleigh and the Butterfly and Otter Sanctuary.

There were turtles in here but mum said they didn't come out well in the photos so she didn't use them. One butterfly flew to close to the water and the turtle snapped it up double quick!

As well as the butterflies flying around, there were lots of chrysalises hatching.

This black one was big......

but this one was a whopper!

Then they went outside to see the otters.

These were two young ones that got most of the attention from everyone.

They were having a lovely time playing together.

When they left there they went back across Dartmoor via Widecombe in the Moor which is where my dad was born. Then back to Princetown where they had an evening meal in The Plume of Feathers pub.
I was glad to see everyone when they got back because my food dishes were getting low!

I haven't forgotten the photos of Carol and Barrie driving dad's big tractor. They will be coming up next week.
