Another Day with Friends.

Do you remember that I told you that Carol and Barrie came to stay with me and my mum and dad for a few days? I was going to post more the next week but then I had a big setback with my health. I am feeling much better now, and so here is the next post at last.

I often take my mum and my dad for a short walk and I invited Carol and Barrie to come along as well.

I told them all that they could go out again for the day as long as they played with me first, which they did.

Their second day out was Dartmoor and the surrounding area.

The first stop was Tavistock and they walked along the river by the weir.

Mum says it is very pretty there and nice and peaceful.

You meet some strange people there like the three wise monkeys!

After that they went to the Farmyard Cafe at Wotter and had an all day breakfast.

Then it was on to Burrator reservoir.

This reservoir supplies drinking water to Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

On top of the dam.

From Burrator they headed off to Buckfastleigh and the Butterfly and Otter Sanctuary.

There were turtles in here but mum said they didn't come out well in the photos so she didn't use them. One butterfly flew to close to the water and the turtle snapped it up double quick!

As well as the butterflies flying around, there were lots of chrysalises hatching.

This black one was big......

but this one was a whopper!

Then they went outside to see the otters.

These were two young ones that got most of the attention from everyone.

They were having a lovely time playing together.

When they left there they went back across Dartmoor via Widecombe in the Moor which is where my dad was born. Then back to Princetown where they had an evening meal in The Plume of Feathers pub.
I was glad to see everyone when they got back because my food dishes were getting low!

I haven't forgotten the photos of Carol and Barrie driving dad's big tractor. They will be coming up next week.

Visiting Friends.

As you will know if you saw my Sunday Selfie, we have had visitors last week. Angel Ginger Jasper's mum and dad came to stay with us for a few days.

It meant lots of extra cuddles for me.

Carol gives good neck scritches too.

Barrie gave me nice cuddles too.

I was very good because usually I struggle is anyone apart from my mum or dad pick me up, but I knew they both love kitties.

They all went out every day and left me in charge at home.
The first day they went to Port Isaac in Cornwall which many of you will know better as Portwenn where Doc Martin is filmed.

The small house is Doc Martin's house.

The harbour.

After they left there they went on to Pentire Point in Newquay.

Dad, mum and Barrie.

Carol, dad and mum.

They have lots more photos of the places they visited and I will show some more next week. Mum also has photos of Carol and Barrie driving dad's big tractor. Make sure you don't miss them!

Meeting Friends

On Sunday our mum and dad told us they were going to meet Ginger Jasper and Milo and Alfie's mums and dads and that we couldn't go. Well we decided that wasn't right. If it wasn't for us they wouldn't have been meeting up in the first place. We all had a Flat Cat discussion and decided whether they liked it or not, we were all going too!

They had a carvery lunch first and there was lots of talking and laughing going on. When they had finished, they went out into the garden to carry on talking and to take photos.
This is the view of the back of the pub and restaurant taken from the garden. It is called the Highwayman's Haunt and is very old.

Alfie took Milo off checking out the gardens while we relaxed on one of the tables with GJ for a while.
Eric: I really must tell mum that I think she is overdoing my diet. Even Skinny Flynnie is bigger than me now.

GJ's dad did an impression of Harry Hill and made everybody laugh.

Then the Beans joined us by the table.
Back row l to r GJ's dad, our dad, Milo and Alfie's dad.
Front row, our mum and Milo and Alfie's mum, and of course us.

Then we got a bit of cuddling for the next photo.
L-R Our dad and Eric, GJ's mum and GJ, our mum and Flynn, GJ's dad.

Then Milo and Alfie came back from exploring the gardens and joined us all for a group photo.

Then we said that is enough of having the Beans in our photos, we wanted one on our own.
We didn't get a kitty bag from any food they left but we did get a goody bag each from Milo and Alfie with yummy treats and lovely woolly balls. Thanks Milo and Alfie. Their mum pawed forward the original Dewey book to our mum and when she has read it, she will paw it forward too.
Ginger Jasper's mum knitted a gorgeous shawl for our mum which she said will be ideal for cooler nights on their cruise. (Oh, did we forget to tell you, we are being locked up again in just over a week's time.) And she got a lovely scarf with lots of kitties on it. Dad got a mug with us on it and he loves it! We will show those pictures later because they are on the other camera.

Paw it Forward.

We played Paw it Forward with Ginger Jasper and we were excited when our package arrived.

Flynn: Oh look, GJ has sent us lots of different treats. These are Felix Lickins and they are my favourite even more than Temtayshuns. I wonder how he knew I like them. Also we have got catnip drops, Thomas Treats and natural dried chicken strips which we have never seen before. Thanks GJ for all these lovely treats.

We got lovely toys too. A jitterbug which moves along the ground when you pull it's tail, some lovely little mousies, blue fev-vers which I wanted to chew and a fish on a line which is great fun.

But I need to check these treats out again.

Mmm nom nom nom. You can see the lovely card GJ sent us, he's looking very smart in his green top hat.

Eric: Steady on Flynn, leave some for me.

Oh this fishie is fun.

The string is good to chew too.

Yup little fishie, I like you.

Now for the biggest surprise of all. You all know I hate having my photo taken and I walk away or look away. Well we got this beeyoootiful fev-ver boa with jingly bells on the ends of it. Mum put it around my neck and I felt so handsome in it that I posed nicely for her. Mum couldn't believe I actually wanted my photo taken.

Don't you think I look good in it?

Flynn: I love the chick-hen strips. I would have eaten the whole packet if mum hadn't taken it away. She said we can't eat everything all at once.
If any one would like to play Paw it Forward with us, we will send a package to the first kitty who says they want to play in our comments.
