Friday Flashback and Caturday Art.

First of all I just wanted to give a brief health update to explain why I haven't commented much for a few days.

Many of you know that I get a lot of problems with my gall bladder, but they didn't want to operate originally in case it accelerated the cancer. I have been getting repeated attacks which are steadily getting worse. I had a particularly bad attack on Sunday morning, only 5 days after the previous one so went to A&E.

They took me in and gave me the first morphine injection and put me on a drip, and allowed me to have clear liquids only. They had hoped to fit me in for an emergency operation on Monday but the theatres were too busy. When it seemed Tuesday would be the same they sent me home on Monday night. I had a phone call on Wednesday to say they could do it on the 26th.

They hope to do it by laparoscopy but warned me it may have to be open surgery which will mean a week stay in hospital. A laparoscopy would only be overnight.

As to the cancer. The tablets had stopped working in January and it had started to grow very slightly again, so they prescribed me a new tablet. My latest CT scan in August showed it was working. There is no more spread and one of the cancerous nodules had shrunk very slightly, so good news.                    I don't like to bore everyone with my health but just wanted to say why I hadn't been commenting much.

Okay, enough of that and on to the flashback which comes from December 2007 and was,                       "A Wet Sunday in the Hay Barn."

The weather has been very wet lately, so we hafn't been for many walks wiv mum. We yooshully stay in the garden while she goes out to do the horses and gets soaking wet.

Dad has been home more furr Chris Mouse, so he took us furr a walk and it started to rain again. He asked us if we wanted to go in the barn so we didn't get too wet. Well we don't mind getting wet, but it seemed like he did, so we said ok he could go in the barn if he wanted.

We wuz sniffing around and we could smell rats and mousies. Then we saw a ladder leaning against the straw, so we didn't even haf to jump up, we just walked up the ladder, right up to the top of the barn.

It wuz reely high up and we could touch the roof wiv our heads.

Then mum came back from putting the horses out in their fields, and it had stopped raining, so we all went for a walk together.

We didn't find any mousies though. They must haf heard us coming.
It wuz good just relaxing in the barn then having a nice quiet stroll.

The random photo this week is from 10.10.10 so exactly 10 years ago, and was chosen by the Trout Towne Tabbies. I have also made two versions of it for my Caturday Art.

I am joining Athena, the Cat Goddess for the Caturday Art blog hop.

For this version I started with Illusion at 50% followed by Frost at 20%

For the second version I started with Sunshine at 50%, then added Metallic at 35%.
I prefer the second version because I don't like Flynn's black butt in the first one!

A Health Update.

I haven't updated for a while because until now I have had no news to tell.
I went for another CT scan a week ago on Friday, Then a full blood panel last Monday.
Yesterday (Monday) I went back for my results.

All of the blood results were good, but the best was the result from the CT scan. last time my oncologist had said there was very slight shrinkage of 2 tumours and the others had remained the same.
This time he said there was noticeable shrinkage in all of the tumours.
As you can imagine, this is a huge relief for Ivor and myself. It will make our Christmas so much better.

Many of you keep asking how I am and tell me I am in your thoughts. Both Ivor and I really appreciate it and thank you for your thoughts.

I have another CT scan in 3 months time and hopefully that will be as good or better.

I can't do a post without a photo so I dug out an old funny one. My head is in there somewhere beneath Eric!

An Update.

I haven't put an update on how I am doing for quite some time on here, although I have put it on Facebook occasionally.

I have had two CT scans since the last time I updated. The first was not what I was hoping for and the cysts and tumours had grown very slightly.
My doctor had said he was not too disappointed as the pills are very slow working and he wanted me to stay on them for a further two months to give them more time.

I had my latest scan 2 weeks ago and went back to the hospital on Monday for the result.
It was better this time and two of the tumours were very marginally smaller and the others were unchanged.

Although it is not a huge difference, it makes a great difference to me to know that they are not growing any more, and that two have even started to shrink.

I am to stay on these pills for now and will have a full blood count in a further two months time which is mostly to check kidney and liver function, and also bone density.

I  have been asked how I am doing but don't want to bore people with my health problems, so will only update if there is any significant change, hopefully for the better.

I appreciate all of the good thoughts and prayers you  have been sending me.

I can't do a post without a photo, so here is one from 2009 of me coming back from a walk in the fields with the boys.
